Evening all,
I have a question my clutch is slipping but only in first gear. It lets go at about 4,000rpm. It has new clutch plates and a upgrade spring design to keep the diapham flat. (hope that correct)
I went and looked at a 650SS today. After some 25 years sleep it needed some air in the tyres, some petrol and oil plus a fresh battery. The owner kicked it and it started on third kick. It ran smooth and no alarming noises, so I bought it.
I am about to start a rebuild of a 750 engine that has been in bits for at least 20 years,I bought the bike as a basket case. The engine was stripped when I got it,my question is, the main bearings are roller bearings.
Hi the frame no on my norton navigator matches the log book it also states the engine no is the same .I have found the no N 2261 stamped on the gearbox casing ,what does this no relate to

The alternator rotor exploded on my 1971 Fastback. It has written off the alternator completely, and the primary inner case, and "smeared" the keyway and key.
Can anyone reccomend a belt kit supplier other than Norvil, as i dont really want to give them any more of my hard earned money.
would like one that will fit with no hassle if possible.
cheers

Hello I'm restoring an N15CS and need help. Is there anyone in east anglia with a restored bike as i would like to have a look at a complete one to see which bits I'm missing.

I have a pair of Armstrong Shocks off a 1956 88 which I am rebuilding, can anyone point me in the direction of restorer who would refurbish them. I am up in Aberdeen and there is nothing here. Thanks Campbell
Unless it is snowing I intend taking a trip on the bike to Comrie on Sunday I would like to be at a cafÃ? called the Tullybanocher around noon so will leave Oldmeldrum around 09:30/10:00.
The clutch on my 1957 ES2 is dragging really badly, to the point where its difficult to engage 1st gear from standstill!
Can somebody tell me what the lift is on these cams should be.

Hello everyone, may I just say hello first and foremost. I have just joined the club after starting work on a Triton project that I managed to wrangle off of it's previous owner!
Got the head off about to set ignition better than sticking a rod in the spark plug hole! Butconfused 5/8 BTDC or 7/16 BTDC have seen both in manuals and web sites its a Alifin head with a iron skull ! hope someone may have the answer ?
On checking the bike after today's ride the wires which go from the magdyno on my 1956 ES2 to the regulator have parted where they enter the connecting plug. Does anyone where I can get a new connector? It is Bakelite and marked Clang.
Just come to start rebuilding the Dominator engine and all was fine, until I was getting ready to put the head on. The gasket in the kit from nortonbits won't fit.
I have now ordered one from the club.
This maybe going over old ground but has anyone fitted this type of ignition, is it worth it, does it improve reliability, give better performance, makes for a cleaner running engine?
Thanks

The cast iron cylinder head on my restored ES2 has decided to fracture in two different places, this despite extreme care in re-assembly and 700 odd miles since the rebuild, does anyone have any idea why this should have happened?
Greetings,
I have recently acquired a 1961 model 50. Factory records confirm this machine left the UK for Kuala Lumpur. Soas this was technically an "Export" model were there any specific options or "Upgrades?
Hi does anyone have a contact number for Nortonbits, I'm having trouble getting in contact to get a refund on an ebay purchase.
Cheers dan
Does anyone know, (well, obviously those with access to the records do), exactly when the AMC box replaced the laydown one?
Following on from the other thread this is a pic of the early and late frame member side by side, the late type is at the front you can see that one of the engine mountings is in a different place.
The wires from the magdyno on my 1956 ES2 are no longer flexible and regularity snap where they enter the connecting plug. It is possible that the unit is older than the bike. Any ideas - maybe I could re wire ?
My ignition warning light does not come on when the ignition is switched on. I have tried 4 similar bulbs all of which work off the battery but still will not come on.
Bumped into Sean Kynnersleyat Darley Moor at the weekend and got an update on his new role following his departure from Norton.
