navigator wiring

Hi can anyone help with a loom routing. Viewed from the front of the bike towards the rear,there is a headstock sheet metal plate with two large holes with gromets in them.Does the wiring loom go through the right or left hole.

Brake cable quality

I,m 56 and restore British bikes for fun and to stay helthy.i have been around bikes all my life.But i am becoming very concerned about the quality of brake cables being sent to me from so called reportable bike dealers that should have more sence

I have a 650SS and a 350 Manx where I think it's a good idea to change their 20+ year old shoes. Both will be used mostly on tracks, the 650 will go a little on road too.

I still have my orrig tap in use!, its the pull on -twist -turn and pull again for reserve type ,In the past i have fitted a new cork no problem,Current corks are all too big. Sanding down sounds a bit hit /miss anyone done this ?

Commando frame change

Hi,

I'm looking at a Commando that is for sale and it has had the frame changed. It is still 'matching numbers' so I assume the VIN plate has just been transferred.

- Would transferring the VIN plate be normal practise?

I have a Laydown gearbox shell that im trying to remove the layshaft bearing from, does any one have a successful method of removing thisstubborn bearing without damaging the shell?

1956 ES2 front mudguard

My early 1956 ES2 is an ex RAC bike, with all the interesting foibles it brings. I am not sure whether the width between the forks is standard, the width between the front fork mudguard mounting points is 41/2". Does this sound standard?

Gaskets

I need rocker cover gaskets and timing cover gaskets for my '54 ES2.

I have looked in the NOC shop and on the RGM website but cannot see them listed. Does anybody know where I might get them?

Norton gearbox cover?

Hope you dont mind one of my stupid Questions But im confused againe.I bought a gearbox cover Discribed as commando but the cable inlet is on the sholder at 10 o,clock rather than top 12 o,clock,can someone with some sence please tell me what gear
