Hi All,
After recently purchasing a 2010 Norton Commando 961, I recently joined the Norton Owners Cluband so it seemed to me that this is the best place to ask a bit of advice.
Hello all well I have had a Very deep passion for the Norton name for well over 50 years and its the Future of Norton,s name I am concend with, Has there is some new machines too come from japan thats 20 years a head of anything else, So the Norto
I've just been to the Stafford show and was quite interested by the demo given on the Spitfire stand, I was wondering if anybody has tried them and what is your opinion on the claims made for it.
Hello all.
I have just bought a 2010 Norton Commando for which I have a query.
Thanks Phil , Got to take the cover off to fit the seal, so i'll check the pressure rel at the same time .Must be some way to check the pressure at which the valve opens?.
Hello all, can anyone tell me if there might be a modification carb for a 1949 ES2 which might make mine perform a bit better?
Anybody know the difference between Champion N7Y plugs & N7YCC and if the latter are suitable for a '71 750 Roadster?
There are knowlegeable people out there & any help would be appreciated.
Just studying my timing chest while it's all over the garge floor. (1970 750) The only drain hole to get rid of surplus oil is above the level of the intermediate pinion spindle.
Hello All,
I have just bought a very originalBig 4. The bike has been used lightly but occasionallyand has fresh oil.
Hi is there any out there who can help me i am trying to find someone who can show me how to set the the timing both valve and ignition on my model 7 engine i live in walsall west midlands thanks terry
The top nut, filler plugs on the top of each leg. Have read conflicting info on TPI, are they 26 or 28 TPI? Mine are a bit butchered and need to clean them up, any suggestions? John
The steering bearings on my '34 Inter seem to be forever coming loose. I slacken off the pinch bolt (it's more cotter pin than pinch bolt I guess), tighten the top nut to take out the play and tighten the pinch bolt back up again.
Sorry not a suggestion, but a question. I can access Roadholder ok, on my desktop, but, when I tried on my kindle I got a " Plug-in not supported" message. Can anyone suggest (in words of 3 syllables!) how to solve this?
I replicate below my post on the Singles message board in relation to my 1955 ES2, in the hope that some knowledgable 1955 Model 7 owners may have an answer.
I have been lucky enough to secure the purchase of an early mk1 850 USA Import Commando. It came without exhausts so looking to purchase a set. The only problem is I'm having great difficulty in identifying what I need to buy.
In the 1960's and 70's when I played around with ES2's and Mod 50's, I used to thread the sealing ring onto the pipe and have it between the flared end and the threaded ring.
Anyone fancy a Manx Norton engined car? Check out the Cooper 1950 MK4 T11 on ebay.
Roger
I have now received my ES2 seat from Leightons, and a very nice seat it is.
Model 19 rigid.
New bushes, steering head bearings fitted. 150mm of thick oil in each slider, but there is still a banging over even small bumps and it's worse going downhill or with the front brake on.
can any one tell me where to get a haynes type work shop manual for my 1951 model 7 plunger,i need the sort that shows photos / drawings for the amature, for valve timing and ignition timing ect
To cut a long story short, have had a Commando for 17 years. I only rode it the 1st year I had it. Have recently taken it to a dealer for restoration but they cannot issue an M O T as the riveted plate with the frame number is missing.
I have a worn out 71 +40 (72mm) bore on a 1961 Model 50 cylinder. Has anyone any information on what piston (other than original) may be suitable to use? It would need to be about 72.5mm (71 +60thou).
I am looking for a centre stand for my 1957 pre featherbed frame model 50 norton if you have one or know of someone who has one my phone number is 07811 420057 many thanks, Peter.
I just had a great weekend at the Kent Coalfield Rally run by the 69MCC from Dover. The venue a sports and social club had all the facilities necessary to run a successful rally.
Hi all, an elderly gentleman I know by sight stopped to talk to me today.
I did 20 miles today and had some intermittent issues with the Dommie. Three times it cut out when idling in traffic, and on the last time I could not restart until it took 50 yards in gear to bump start down a steep hill to get it going again.
I have to run a dry clutch temporarily. Does anyone know how the primary chain was lubed on those racers with an open primary drive and a very skimpy chainguard?
My K2F mag has just had a newly wound armature, new condenser, bearings and seals and been generally refurbished.
