650SS crankshaft
I have just bought a 1963 650SS which seems to have a 99 crank fitted. Can I replace it with an Atlas or Commando crank and rods?

What is the cosensus of opinion on covering the conrod oil hole with the undrilled shell to prevent over oiling of the cylinder bore.
Hello all,
I recently purchased a 16H.
Date of reg on the V5C is 1946.
(the engine was supplied to the WD in WW2 apparently and the seller beleived the bike to be a 1932 model ...).
I have just run my rebuilt Model 18 engine for the first time - 3 miles and it sighed and died. No compression. Got a lift and trailered her home. Checked the valve lifter which was adjusted ok - and lo and behold the compression was back.
The two Nortons in the family both have coil ignition one with a Boyer and one with electronic trigger in a Dissy. Looking in my spares box i see two K2F mags ,one manual and one auto ,both needing restoration .
I've just removed the RITA and replaced the magneto on my Dommie. I'm fed up with all my scruffy wiring! But I can't remember how the original white cut-out wire ran.
Hello all. I have managed to buy a 1933 CS1 and I am in the throws of getting the beast running. Found a few gremlins but nothing really serious.

Apologies if I'm treading old ground here, but frustration is a powerful mover!
Does anyone know where I can get Clutch plates to fit a 1921 16h ?
I like looking at polished alloy but am not so keen on the actual polishing part. What products do other members recommend to clean the bike and keep it looking as good as possible without rubbing my fingers to the bone.
I have a mod18housed in a wd16hframe and everything was going fine until I tried to fit the outer primary chain case, as the hole for the footrest support pedestal is to high in the cover to allow fitting.
Hi all, in the April Roadholder 'editorial' I stated that with the 40 year rule, bikes manufactured prior to 31st March 1975 are now 'tax exempt'. I now realise I have made an error.
Hi all, I just receieved this fundraising email about a couple who are producing their second dogs in sidecars movie.
Any ideas where I can get one of these for my '56 ES2 - they seem to be unobtainable under £400!
Have recently completed a rebuild & overhaul of my 1974 850 Interstate, I have not used the bike for 6 years, I took it out on a few short runs and things were ok, with the usual adjustments required.
Norton's proud boast, that no other manufacturer could, was there had been a Norton machine in every TT since the start. When did that come to an end or has it? John
Hello all, two or three years ago, there was an offer in Roadholder for a 10% discount from stainlessautomotivfastenings.co.uk.
I have a non-matching numbers 99, the frame it turns out is from an Atlas. The frame number starts with 20. Is it correct that the frame number on a 99 starts with14?
Those of you who keep up to date with the foreign news will no doubt have heard that our European cousins are about to introduce a much lower breath alcohol limit for any drivers using their road systems.
I've taken on a job for a friend to get his manxman going. In partial trade I get some parts. I was to receive a supposed basket case 650SS engine.
Hi

Just for those that are interested: The latest VMCC journal, arriving at the same time as the Roadholder gave a rare Ethanol update.
My Fastback tank & tail units have gone very patchy & faded, despite them being brand new 20 years ago (Fair Spares replacement items).
