New petrol tank

A very upsetting day when as with others I had some starting problems, with MOT overdue had to jump start - to access the battery, remove tank - Do not balance as it can fall off!!!

I started off with a jubilee fitted with road holders and while collecting spares picked up a spare frame, navigator engine, 3 tanks etc etc, I've just bought some more spares from a club member and now have some jubilee forks and a big box of use

I would appreciate it if someone could advise a definite battery model for a Mk IIA, I'm currently abroad and want to order one for my return, but I'm getting different advice from the suppliers.

Ignition timing

Hi has anyone got a foolproof meathod for timing the contact points.

Is it 8 degrees before top dead centre in full advance.The manual got me a bit confused.

Has anyone fitted an after market steering damper such as the Andover Norton one?

Was it a worthwhile mod?

The roads in Devon are very bumpy and I'm a weed :)

1952 ES2 rear wheel

Hi Have just taken on a part rebuilt 52 ES2 to finish of. I noticed the rear wheel was loose in the frame when acquired but didn't take too much notice, Having striped it out I find it has two new single track wheel bearings.

Piston clearance

I am about to rebore a 1929 Model 19 and just wanted to get an opinion on what the piston clearance sould be.

A friend of mine thinks 6 thou is the way to go or 5 thou if you want to spend more time carefully running it in.

AGM on Skype?

For those of us members over 4,000 miles (6437 km) fom the AGM, it would be really nice to see a recorded video of the meeting on Webex, gotomeeting, Skype, podcast, or similar.

Would that be up for discussion?

Seat foam

Hi I am about to refurbish the seat on my navigator The base has been rebuilt and painted the seat cover has been ordered but the foam is crumbling does anyone know the thickness of foam used .

Dommie wiring

Hi Guys it's me again, decided the wiring looked naff on my 1959 99, so decided to replace it. My problems arose when I removed the lighting switch(which was glued in) I traced all of the wires and recorded their source and destination.
