I'm looking for help to identify the year and model of Commando frame I have. The rivited plate on the headstock has 304227 stamped on it. On the left hand headstock is stamped 00108, and on the left hand fuel tank bracket is stamped 064140.

Working my way through the 101 bodges on my recently acquired machine I found it had a 18 tooth engine sprocket with the wrong offset, so a 20 tooth sprocket and new length of chain were bought.

A very upsetting day when as with others I had some starting problems, with MOT overdue had to jump start - to access the battery, remove tank - Do not balance as it can fall off!!!

Hello All I see the Lunch did not turn up ! He got the wrong Date! Well I think Next AGM you have to bring you own Lunch , or the NOC my be better ording a Burger Van they do not often get there dates wrong .

I started off with a jubilee fitted with road holders and while collecting spares picked up a spare frame, navigator engine, 3 tanks etc etc, I've just bought some more spares from a club member and now have some jubilee forks and a big box of use

Hi all, I want to respray my Commando side panels. I want to remove the old black paint prior to re-painting. The panels are glass fibre - will paint stripper (Nitromors etc.) damage the panels?

My ES2 has developed a whine from the gearbox - I notice in particular in third gear. Can anyone tell me the fix please - can you just replace the one gear or is it the whole bunch?

I'm trying to track down this 99 which is now a Triton, it was my Dads old Dommie and it's still on the road. We had the details of the owner from about 1990 but have lost it.

My ES2 tank has a thick clear layer coating the inside. As it is clear I can see that the tank is rusty hence the coating. I would like to remove this and de rust the tank.

The International I have is painted black and silver. The inside of the primary chain case is poly grey. I have obtained the records of the bike, no paint colour. My question is,was it originally painted poly grey or black and silver.

I for one thought the sample On-line Roadholder was a fantastic step forward. Perhaps itsnot for everyone but what a great opportunity to maybe save the club a few pennies on printing and postage costs.

I would appreciate it if someone could advise a definite battery model for a Mk IIA, I'm currently abroad and want to order one for my return, but I'm getting different advice from the suppliers.

I have recently purchased what I've been told is a Dommie 99 Special. The frame number is R14D86714 and looks to be a Featherbed Slimline Frame.

I am looking for a seal for the oil pressure indicator on my '57 International engine. It is a bit unusual with a rubber cup and an inverted brass cup which act as a seal on the pressure indicator. Any other ideas welcome.

Hi has anyone got a foolproof meathod for timing the contact points.

Is it 8 degrees before top dead centre in full advance.The manual got me a bit confused.

I have the Canadian model with the lights wire for constant use and was planning to fit the 3 wire Lucas altenator and Podronics regulator/rectifier.

Can anyone advise if the assimilator is still used and how to wire?

We removed our tank today and found another number on the frame which is the same type of stamp as the one on the lower lug any ideas please

When I first started my newly re-assembled ES2 up a few days ago there where clouds of white smoke and the plug fouled up and stopped within a few minutes.

I recently purchased my ES2 from an American who bought it in Cornwall in 1980 and did nothing with it. It's running great and I'm really pleased with it.

The ES2 came with the tank as pictured on the bike.

Hi Have just taken on a part rebuilt 52 ES2 to finish of. I noticed the rear wheel was loose in the frame when acquired but didn't take too much notice, Having striped it out I find it has two new single track wheel bearings.

I am about to rebore a 1929 Model 19 and just wanted to get an opinion on what the piston clearance sould be.

A friend of mine thinks 6 thou is the way to go or 5 thou if you want to spend more time carefully running it in.

For those of us members over 4,000 miles (6437 km) fom the AGM, it would be really nice to see a recorded video of the meeting on Webex, gotomeeting, Skype, podcast, or similar.

Would that be up for discussion?

Hi I am about to refurbish the seat on my navigator The base has been rebuilt and painted the seat cover has been ordered but the foam is crumbling does anyone know the thickness of foam used .

Can anyone advise what grease i should use in the dollshead gearbox for a 1938 ES2 as the Instruction booklet just says grease. Or can i use an oil say 50w non detergant?

Hi Guys it's me again, decided the wiring looked naff on my 1959 99, so decided to replace it. My problems arose when I removed the lighting switch(which was glued in) I traced all of the wires and recorded their source and destination.
