Tank protector/cover

Hello all.

I have just bought a 2010 Norton Commando for which I have a query.

My friend has a Suzuki Hyabusa, and I notice he has a sort-of leather 'half-cover' for his petrol tank, which protects it from scratches from his clothing etc.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy similar for the modern Norton Commando? If so, what's its correct name and from where can I buy one that is the correct fit for my bike?

Regards

Hello D

If you contact www.invisiblepatterns.co.uk they manufacturea clear film cover that fits both scalloped areas at the rear of the tank and a patch that fits at the rear of the tank where our beer belly will rub, no offence meant, They supply all the kit and if you spray a little water with a smidge of washing up liquid so you can slide them to your prevered position and then squeegy out the water , with supplied tool. Had mine on for 3 years no issues at all. Hope this of use to all.

Thanks Paul.

However, my Hyabusa friend warned me off these saying that you can get bubbles under the film, and also can damage the lacquer/paint if/when taking it off.

Having said that, I'm assuming that you've had no problems considering your praise of the film.

Hello D

There is no need to take it off its clear, and using the water prep prevents bubbles .

Ok thanks, Paul.

Or you could try Bagalux tank covers at Motolegends and solve a luggage issue at the same time.
