Insurance for an ES2 trials bike?
I've just bought an ES2 that was converted to a trials bike in the 60's, and am having trouble getting my insurer ( carol Nash) to put it on my multi bike policy because it's been modified.

My 63 Atlas has 389 Amals. I have a K&N air filter, ostensibly correct for this model/carbs, but it will not clear the oil tank/battery box. What would be effect of shortening the carb spacer, perhaps by a centimetre?
thank you
Today I got RH330. This is about three weeks earlier than ever before!

Guys I've just picked up a 1946 model 18 that needs a bit of work. The first thing that is obvious is that one of the cam bushes has been spinning in the casing and has become a very loose fit.
I've seen lots of discussion about what is the best gasket to use or, whether to remove it altogether, ......
Just tried to attach four photos to a new thread, doing it one at a time, go to "add further attachment" and the whole thread disappears. Given up.
I have just bought a 72 750 which is fitted with a Mick Hemmings belt drive on the primary. My previous commandos had the chain drive which worked just fine. What are the good and bad parts of this new fangled technology?

Torquing the upward facing head fasteners is no problem but the two sleeve nuts and the rear central nut can cause problems.
I've just bought a 55 ES2 in trials trim, the last parts of the numbers match, but the frame starts KW it's clearly an original stamping, is there any relevance to this?
Also any recommendations for the best manual/book?
Thanks

Hi, I am struggling to get the carb set close enough to get the bike running.
My 1959 ES2 has had a slight blow between the drive side head studs and cylinder, the puff of gas exiting between the 1st and 2nd barrel fins. The long sleeve head nuts will not pass through the new aluminium gasket without forcing.

I have a folding KS on my 99 , I think the bolt is 3/8th UNF , its a bit short and a longer bolt would find the unused threads. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you sort it.
