Hi, will a 1970 fibreglass roadster petrol tank fit on a '73 850 Commando.
If so what treatment should be given to the fibreglas tank to protect against ethanol in the fuel, please?

Does anyone know if the head bolts were changed to 24 tpi at the same time as all threads below them (i.e. cylinder base studs became 24 tpi) were changed or did they remain 26 tpi?

I'm a new memeber who has just accquired a '57 Inter. It is missing both guards and rear number plate bracket. It also has gaiters on the front forks, which seem original. My problem is that I am having trouble finding information on this model.
Could some one out there please confirm the correct ratio for the tacho gear box on my 1961 600SS. The bike has a standard chronometric tacho (number 1309/00) and rotates clockwise.

I tried to look for NocShop to piston on my 1937 model 50, I found only 1933-35
I have got Model 19R with the long roadholder forks on which I find it really difficult to push the assembled leg stanchion up into the top yolk taper.
In my Atlas box of bits I found a ring with 3 holes in it. It fits the the pattern of screws that hold the primary chaincase to the engine but my other dominators do not have the ring. Is it a standard part?
I have just become the owner of a Norton 750 Commando (1974 reg) with the silencer / exhaust as in the photo. It isn't the usual upswept design. Does anyone know where it's from ? I need to replace it as it is had a few holes.
Off to the Wistanstow classic bike show this morning, or so I thought, 10 miles out, is that a tapping sound? yes that is a tapping sound, now it's a knocking sound, whip the clutch in, engine stops sharpish. That'll be siezed up then.

I have just purchased a 1929 model 19 and wanted to check the engine data I have in an old Norton maintenance book.
1 Valve Timing inlet 5/16 BTDC and exhaust 5/16 ATDC
2 Ignition timing BTDC fully advanced 5/8
Like many I junked the OE starter and associated gear trainon my Mk3 when fitting a belt primary drive (RGM)
Sadly not very Norton-related - but I think there might be one Norton on Sunday's Pioneer Run. (22/03/15; Tattenham Corner, Epsom Downs, 8am) (I'm riding 1902 Quadrant)Where are the veteran Nortons?
Is there a preference? Both seem to be available. JP have solid skirts. Heplex (n.o.s.) are slotted. (To reduce piston slap?).
Hello all, last night whilst out on a particularly cold ride from Alton to Emsworth my cover cap came off the rear rod within the plunger on my ES2. Of course I only noticed this this morning in the "almost light" of day.

The rotor on my mercury decided to give up its hold on the world yesterday with entertaining results. What a mess. Anyway is there any benefit to upgrade to a larger wattage stator or should I stay with the original single phase unit?
