Last night I was told Phil Hannam was no longer a Member of the NOC. Having met him at Ardingly Show ground whilst accompanying Dave Mitchell on an Autojumble task in Sussex!
I have a friend with a 1929 M19 (lucky chap) who is rebuilding it but the piston fitted is very worn and I believe is the wrong one. Does anybody know if anybody stocks such a thing. The original bore and stroke is 79x120.
Having finally bought a compression tester to establish why my m50 is so slow up hills I find the readings to be quite good..or better than anticipated.
I get 110psi cold and the same warm..not hot.

Would it be possible for the site to remember that I am logged in? This seems to happen for one day but when I visit the site the following day I have to log in again. And as we know, the site is rather slow (most un-Norton like!)
Hi again, my question refers to a 1972 commando roadster sold in the USA. I'm rebuilding the switches on the above commando and have run into situation that I don't understand.
About to re new the valve guides in the R4 Cyl Head I have. Have I read that these heads are prone to cracking around the inlet guide area when removing or installing guides.
looking into my gearbox without any cogs i focused in on the cam plate when i rotate it its buckled about 2mm, ish. would it straighten up or is it a case of just renewing it .

i built up a 1956-Norton, moted it [altough it doesn't need one] did a Norton- Owners -Club- Factory-Record .. tried Dvla but no record of last-reg..[ the bike is a 1956-Dommie -99- Scottish- bike,, so not an import..] DVLA.
I have recently purchased a 57 88 for restoration here in California and I've been trying to discover the original colour. The frame is black with the optional chrome mudguards - No sign of polychromatic grey.
Does anyone have any knowledge/experience of the Oberon replacement clutch slave?
Will the club have a stand and if so will they want members to display bikes or only Commando's?.

measured it between the plastic disk thing on the side nearest to me (timing side) and it was at about 0.005 thou at the top and 0.004 thou at the bottom
