Can anyone give me the data for the damper units on the featherbed ohc singles? I would like Manx and International please. My memory says they are 13.4" long, no idea spring rates or other specs

Hello All
I have a '57 ES2, the fuel tank (pre-featherbed) the type that has chrome plated side panels with stuck on knee grips.
So the load on the charging system on my model 7 seemed a bit high, even though connections, wiring etc. is fine and the dynamo is renovated (+ electronic charging relay).
Project nearing its end now but what battery are you folks using to power up the electric start.
I have a 1936 Model 18 with a Dolls Head gearbox. I've been searching for a maintenance manual or at least a parts list key to go with the exploded parts diagrams available on the net. I'm new to these and am struggling with the basics...
Hi All, my Lucas pages from the 1950 catalog show a DU42R as the correct headlamp, but some feel it was the DU142.
Thoughts?

HI
Does anyone no where I can buy a 1954 ES2 tool box, either repro or second hand,
ive been looking for months but none ever seem to come up.
The ones on ebay made in india seem to be for earlier models big 4 etc, any
almost there, but the 1959 es2 is running very rich [to the point of fouling plug after 1 mile]
checking fuel height in float chamber the level is about 5mm above the dimple, is this excessive?
I have an 8" dominator full width hub and on stripping down to replace bearings etc. I find that the thread where the locknut engages is almost completely worn away.
My 1955 Model 88 Dominator has finally run after many years in pieces. It had some very unusual faults, and took some ingenuity to fix.... There's a few trivialities to sort before it hits the road.
I have just seen on Web site news that Eric Cox has passed.
I only knew him from meeting him when the International rally was held in the USA, where he had more than his fair share of mechanical problems.
This came up today and I'm wondering what wisdom people can share with me. I want to buy/build a SOHC international engine.
Hi Dale
I have a 1962 Dommi 99 with a twin front brake created out of two early Dommi brakes.
It is not as effective as one might expect. Does anyone have knowledge of converting this type of brake to twin leading shoe?
Hi there - only just noticed that my 74 Mk 2 Commando has no gearbox number stamped on it.
1959 Model 50 - is the large nut that secures the gearbox sprocket to the shaft a left hand or right hand thread ? I need to undo it and obviously don't want to applying masses of pressure in the wrong direction !
For 1959 Model 50 - Andover Norton and RGM Norton both sell external cartridge Oil Filter Kits. One is almost twice the price of the other. Are they different ? Is one better than the other ? Where do they fit ?
I wasn't previously impressed by the speed of this site but today it is much more Manx than 16H.
Has someone been tuning it up? Whatever, I'm very happy.
Curiously, only one of the four camshaft bushes on my 1965 Jubilee has excessive play and needs replacing but I cannot find a supplier. I need the timing side exhaust cam bush.
I came across this site via another forum - it allows you to search for patents submitted by different people / companies.
The Norton Motors search brings up some interesting stuff:
This fellow makes/sells sheetmetal parts for Nortons (and some other makes), he'll manufacture what you need as well.
This might be of more interest to overseas members.
Hi everybody
I now have given up on ever getting my hands on the model 18 I have been waiting for (lack of registration papers and a non caring seller) - thus last month I bought a non-running ES2.
when I go onto Andover Norton or the RGM site I find an exploded view of the machines and part no's, well mostly, I don't find this facility on the Norvil site so I asked as follows
Hi all
I'm completely new to Nortons, but have taken ownership of a 62 Dommi 88 SS. It is in excellent condition, but has been stored and not run since 1998.
Having recently bought a 1959 Dominator 99, and being new to the model (my other bikes are Commandos) I need some advice on the amount of oil coming out of the crankcase breather pipe.
Hi can anyone confirm for me if the 1925 range of 4 speed models had a Cush drive hub or did this only come out in 26.George Cohen would have been the person to ask but sadly he is no longer with us.Does any one know what is happening with both hi
Hi all.
re previous messages about replacement delux seats (pre 1963)
Hi, I am new to this forum, and I hope you can help. I brought a Norton 650 race bike back in 1977 and did a bit of racing, until I got married and children arrived. When I brought the bike I didnât really ask many questions about its heritage.
