Primary sprocket

Could anyone tell me what size the threads are for the primary sprocket puller. I think they are 5/16 BSF , But they only go in about 3 turns, then get really tight.

Laydown Gearbox help

I have an early Norton OHC International with a 4 speed laydown gearbox Pand I am trying to find some information on the gearbox. I was told the Norton gearbox should have a number beginning with an N.

Piston skirt coatings?

My 99 was rebored and fitted with 650 SS short skirt pistons, 41/2 thou clearance. It is now nicely bedded in and has really good compression and goes very well. It is a little noisy with cold slap just like many other 99's I have heard.

In an effort to make life easier I'm planning to fit a valve in the feed line to stop drain down when the Commando is out of use for a few weeks. I know many have done this so I'm looking for a valve that is suitable i.e..

Has anyone had this problem with cam followers, I purchased new cam followers off eBay during a complete engine rebuild,when completed I took the bike for its MOT, a 50 mile round trip,engine running great,then about a week later I started it up,h

Elusive con rod

Please, Can anyone point me in the direction of an ES2 conrod? 7" between centres, likely casting mark E4099. The one in my engine has been "polished" beyond reason.

I've looked everywhere, so feel I have nothing to lose on the forum.

Dynamo identification

Could someone help please, i have a dynamo that is not working.I have just taken it off to and the number is E3H M-L-C . Is this the correct dynamo for my 1957 model 50? any help or advice appreciated thanks

I recently fitted a pair of StayUp floats with aluminium needles to the MK1 Concentric carburettors on my 850 Commando, but could not achieve acceptable fuel levels in either.
