We at the Surrey section will be having a Commando stand as well as a stand for other models Norton's for our members so we shall be having two stands at the Ardingly show in West Sussexon the 29 October. The Commando stand is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Norton Commando, but may be it is the 49th year as the first Commando dispatched was 126125 that went out in May 1968 and not1967 which were pre production test bikes. If you want to put your bike on our Commando stand you will need to send off an application form or go on the web site www.elk-promotions.co.uk to get an application form or apply via the web site. If you apply by post you need to send an SAE to receive your free tickets. We at the Surrey section have a stand at both of the Ardingly classic bikes shows every year. I also sent a press release to be put on both the web site and in the events section of Roadholder. The Ardingly press release in now on the web site and gives details of this event. This has been on the web site for nearly two weeks. I also mentioned in this press release and the up and coming one in the events section of Roadholder that any one who wants to bring along their Commando for our stand will be very welcome.

Glad to hear that you dont need a Condom between your legs to be welcome. It didn't come across like that. A mixture of bikes is far more interesting.I have been to shows where the turnout was very poor. I only attend do's where I can keep an eye on the bike, If I have to leave it far away or round the back of a dark pub car park ,I'm off.

The Ardingly shows are always packed and full of a many different makes of bikes. I can leave my own bikes on the Surrey stand as there is always some one there to keep an eye on the whole stand. The Surrey section have been planning this event formany months now so we are hopeful that it will all turn out for the best and be a very rewarding, eventful and very interesting event for owners of Norton's to attend, with either their own bikes or as visitors.

I am hoping to bring my June '68 model, it won't be running I;m afraid, and it is dependant on whether I get my 'tins' back from paint and have it reassembled. kind regards
