Hi all. I want to spray my cast iron cylinder head. I would prefer it satin black or even gloss black.
Questions:
1) Will powder coating remain intact around the exhaust pipe ports?
I am search fora Norton single which was last in the family around 1950's. I believe it was a 500cc with the Registration number JKO 623.
Has anyone seen this bike and if so I would love to know the history since it left our family.
Hi I just joined the club having bought my first Norton. It looked great and sounded great, then the right "original" black cap fell off...the fun started. So I 've been trying to replace the system.
The speedo drive on my 1972 Roadster has so much play, that it wobles around on the axle with spacer. So much that it drops in and out of engagement with the driving slots.
Hi,
Does anyone know what is the widestmodern chain that will fit a bog standard 1976 mk3 850 e/s, assuming sprockets are also changed.
regards,
Paul
Hi Does anyone know where the 250cc Petty Norton [one of about 5] is if it still exists that was once owned / raced by Harry Stanford from Wellington Shropshire.
WANTED - Long Roadholder Fork Spring Cover Tube (bottom) B2/625 or 03-0453. I just need one please but will buy 2 if necessary at the right price. It's the one held on by two screws to the alloy fork slider.
What transfers would a 1960 Dommi 99 have ?
many thanks Ian
I am wrapping up a '57 model 77 restoration & would like to run a fuse to protect the electrical system. I have converted to 12 volts, positive ground, electronic voltage regulator, newly rebuilt generator, no electric starter.
Ever wondered how the timing chains and gears get lubricated, or more to the point where does the oil come from? Well I did, and realised the only way is from the oil pressure relief blow-off valve.
I am restoring the engine of mod. 18 1939.
I need following parts for this engine: 1. Cylinder Barrel # 8923, 2. Rocker Box Cover #8895.
Can somebody help me to get these items?
Yuri.

Oops even posting is confusing as I never hit the ost Comment" button at the bottom of the page and only hit the "return" button on my keyboard and the blank message was sent.
Trying to cure a slight clutch slip on my 1972 Roadster I soon found out that the the clutch wasadjusted completely wrong. First of all there was no slack at the lever, this was the first thing to catch my attention.
I have just read the Latest Roadholder mag. The 'Development of the Dominator Engine' which was a very interesting read. However after a good start the information and accuracy falls off when the 750cc engine is discussed.
This is about two aspects of steelrims:
Hi All, Is there a consensus as regards the best head gasket material please? There seems to be choice of solid copper, copper asbestos or composite. I have to say there are a couple of nicks in the surface that cannot be removed easily.
Anyone have thoughts about the correct speedo drive ratios for the dominators? My existing drive ratio is 19:10 - almost 2:1. Norvil have a ratio of 15:12 as a replacement part for my mercury.
I have just purchased a complete new headlamp for my 1964 650SS. The main bulb is a haloigen bulb and has three connectors. The old headlamp that I removed only had two connectors. I am after advice on how to wire up this lamp.
Just kicked my 850 Mk3 into life after a 100% rebuild. And there's nothing like it is there? Three kicks and it's like being in the cockpit of a Spitfire, oron the footplateof the Flying Scotsman, or the engine room of the Great Eastern.
The last time I rebuilt a 650SS engine it was with Roller and Ball Main Bearings. I remember the procedure as:
Hi, could anyone advise me on where to source a fibre washer fora 1948model 18'oil pump to timing case' (image attached).
Fitting new mains bearings is a pretty straight forward job, or it should be but you can get it all wrong very easily.
Another (probably silly!) Qfrom a Commando newbie: there is a red warning light embedded in the headlamp shell of my 1972 Commando Roadster. I have not succeded in getting it to light up, even when replacing the complete unit.
Having read a lot about isolastics and vibration I would like to know from some of the more experienced members if my 1972 Roadster's vibration is within "normal" limits.
I am the very proud owner of a lovely 76 Interstate 850. However, it has a few jobs to be done (dont't they all?) and was wondering if anyone could recommend to a repairers/garage in either Kent or Sussex (I live in Tunbridge Wells).
