MkII & MkIII crank compatability

Forums
Greetings,Does anyone know if a MK 2 crank will fit in MK3 c/cases? I know the drive side crank shaft/pin is longer due to sprag clutch set up, but what about width/depth/height? Thanks!

The whole crank assembley for the mk3 was redesigned and the flywheels are thicker, different studs & nuts etc. Thus the cases are also different and about 2mm wider for the new crank. I bought a supposed mk3 engine from Ebay - the guy had used mk3 cases but not a mk3 crank so had spacers of over 60 thou behind the main bearings to take up the slack! Alan
