C3 Bearings
It seems nowadays, everyone specifies C3 bearings for motorcycle engines,I really am baffled by this.

Hi all. Could someone please provide me with a link for a supplier of the RHP M306 (RHP 6306) timing side bearing that has ten balls rather than the standard seven.
I have spent hours surfing the net for a supplier and cannot find one.
During a recent branch meeting it was mentioned that it might be worth putting up details of recently used parts suppliers that have provided good service. There used to be a guide, but that was many years ago.
Could someone please advise me on running in my rebuilt Electra. The barrels have been rebored with new pistons and rings. The head has had the seats recut with new valves, guides and springs.
Yet another hurdle in bringing my 1961 '99' up to spec!
I am restoring a 1960 99 and do not have the ball bearing for the clutch pushrod. What is the size and where is it located? I assume at the gearbox lever end but if it is fairly large presumably I must remove the housing to install it.
I have just bought a 1971 commando with a gearbox problem. the bike jumps out of first gear almost instantly you go to pull away. It also feels like1st doesn't engage like therest of thegears do.
From the Rugby area.

Re my previous request regarding the oil jet. I was able to get one from Russells.
What does this do and how does it work.
It seats in the outer case and sits against the worm wheel at the oil pump.
I am trying to split a pair of Electra crankcases that are prooving stubbon to say the least. I definatly have all the attaching fasteners out including the two inside the top where the barrel fits.
The Dominator twin engine, including the Commando, is a very easy unit to strip down usually only requiring a standard 3 leg puller for the camshaft sprocket but a Special Puller for the crankshaft, that is quite expensive at around £36.
I remember reading, but can't remember where, that you can fit a 750 commando head on an 850 commando engine after a simple mod. This is supposed to cure the leaks caused by porosity, apparently common on the 850 head. Can anyone comment?
Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to convert an atlas head to commando spec? Ian B
Am I the first to report this? Went by the Bracebridge Street works as part of a Yank's off-the-beaten-track trip to Birmingham and observed that the Geoff Duke blue placque was missing from outside of the works entrance.
Hi all, I have a '75 Mk III and I am keen to understand the electrics. I have a basic knowledge but could do witha laymans version of how the charging system (with and without Boyer hardware) works.
I'm confused. In the technical area the shock absorber length for heavywieghts as 12.7 inches. Yet our own NOC shop sells one length for slimlines, and a longer one for widelines. Yet some vendors sell the same unit for all.
This may well be old news for many Noccers but I've only recently found out that Andover Norton are producing wideline featherbed frames in the manx stye, but all-welded, for a reasonable £825.
Hi ,does anyone know of an official who could value my bike please?
Cheers
Chris
Hi,
Following on from a comment by Joe_Seifertin aseparatethread I thought I would ask the question in the title.
Spurred into action after reading Ken Merricks article page 39 RH 279 Jan I decided to further assist my poor laboured starter motor. Already 4 poled some years ago it will start (just) a warm engine, I decided to change the solenoid.
Hi guys,
just got a 1972 commando, the front disk brake as expected does not quite work (as well as the back drum brake...).
Is it possible to remove the swinging arm without removing the clutch and inner clutch case please>
Cheers
Chris
The rubber joint between the engine oil return pipe and the stub from the oil tank has an elbow in it which carrys the feed for the rocker oil pipe. Mine is split.
Can anyone tell me where I can buy another of these rubber pipes?
I note from the latest "Roadholder" mag that we are in for a "modest" membership price hike of nearly 11%! It will provide us with an extra 3 copies per year compared to the 9 of last year.
I am in the process of reassembling a 1957 500cc Dominator. It would be really helpfull if some one in the Chester area has a Dommie thatI could look at once in a while, when stuck!
If so please ring 01928 722515

Whilst at the MOT last week the, the MOT tester said that both front and rear tyres on my Model 18 needed 'refereshing' (both are about about knackered).
Currently I have:

I'm slowly getting my '61 Navigator into working order (every time I fix one problem another one appears) but one thing that slows down progress is a lack of technical information.
