I am really struggling to get the drive worm nut off the crankshaft of my bike..The engine is on the bench, and I have locked the crank with a bar through the small ends, but no matter how much force I use it will not turn..

Well I replaced the sleeve gear bearing oil seal and put it all back together .Went out on a run and oil still dribbling out all over the chain .Its supprising how a little oil can be sent everywhere .On closer examination the oil is not from the
Were these frames made from precious metal this year or what as I'm stunned at what this piece of scrap is selling for considering
Is there a normal level ? The reason I ask is that having just come back from the IOM I calculate I have used oil at the rate of 835 miles to the pint. I'm not sure whether this is good, bad or average ?
I'm in the process of rebuilding my gearbox and I'm not sure if it's a Commando or Dominator gearbox. The gearbox number is N15505.
Help in identification required before ordering parts ?
The bike would have gone to the painters some time ago except the paint codes from the NOC site (Dove and Polychromatic Grey) simply aren't known on this side of the Atlantic (Canada) so I've had to order paint from RS paints that my painter will
Hi,
Originally both cylinders of my 650SS were running very rich causeing very poor running. The main jets were reduced from 280 too 270 with number 20 pilot jets. The spark plugs were NGK B6ES but have been replaced with Champion NC4.
In 1947 Norton supplied a new plunger 350cc Manx to Alec Bennett, a dealer in Southampton. The registration number was EOW 375, but this number has now been re-issued to a car.
The engine number is B 10 1****
Here I am pondering a choice of petrol tanks for my '48 International which has been years in the parts collection phase but with an end in sight.
I bought one at Netley yesterday and am now looking for the best place to mount it, has anyone else fitted one, I'm thinking of behind the central frame section but need to work out how to route the pipes.
I am uploading a photo of my flywheels. The left one is out of a Commando and has a number in the casting: 06-0732. The right one is from a G15CSR and has number: DA18637. I have a better crankshaft with the same number 06-0732 on it.
Here's a question aimed mainly at our UK Members, but overseas comments would be interesting.
I put a new rear wheel on my 650SS and then discovered that the brake arm now pointed up instead of down. The brake arm itself is different. It is now more cranked so the brake rod can still reach it but is it the wrong brake for the bike?

Does any one know where I can get a set of siamesed exhaust pipes? I have a 1961 99 which had Siamese pipes fitted but I've had to destroy these to strip the engine down.
Fit them over the stanchions with the headlights' bolts slots positioned horizontally
With a AP lockheed caliper and RGM adaptor plate, removing the front wheel to repair a puncture is a painful process when it comes to taking away the disc caliper adaptor plate. The nuts are all obscured by the wheel, disc, plate, caliper etc.
A personal observation ..............
From the September 2015 Andover Norton Newsletter:-
Hi, not a suggestion, more of a question really.
My 850 was made in 1974 with single disc on the left. I am going to Netley Marsh autojumble this week to search for a few things including a headlamp and front wheel. Can you help with;
I swapped my 7 inch forks for 7-3/8 but now there is nothing to prevent the forks hitting the tank. The old lock limiter no longer works. I have uploaded pictures of the old and new yokes.
Hi , here is a photo of one of the Nortons i have, with Jensen sitting on it.

i am having nightmare on removing the engine sprocket on my domi 99.
Well I thought I'd be getting my bike back together this afternoon, having bought a new + 40th JP piston from RGM, .... the old piston pin slid out with a bit of gentle heat as you would expect.
Anyone know if the layshaft bearing can be replaced without removing the gearbox from the frame. I suppose it can be done but does it make any sense to remove the box?
I want to replace with the later superblend.
