Low opinion of the 961

I do not own a 961 just a Rotary and a 650 SS, on FB today there was some typically negative comments concerning the new Norton's (Atlas etc) from one who admitted to not owning or riding a Norton and another who is a sales person for a well know

Navigator Breather

On the back of my Navigator enginenear the chain sprocket, there is a hole that I think is a crankcase breather, there was a 3/8 brass bolt with a hole up its centre ramed in the hole.

Slimline Fuel Tanks

Can anybody shed any light on why some OEM Slimline petrol tanks have the filler on the nearside (left) and some on the offside (right)?

Also I have one with provision for two petrol taps (although one has not been used).

Hi I'm just starting to tinker with my late father in laws 1929 model 18, now i'v been able to get it up on the work platform its not to bad OK everything made of steel is rusty but it seems to be solid.

I ride a 1957 !9S (pre featherbed), I am currently running with Maxxis tyres front and rear which leave me with no confidence in damp/wet (just dumped me on my a**e on a damp roundabout, bent the footrest and pride hurt).

While rummaging through one of my baskets I came upon a hardback copy of: NORTON MOTOR CYCLES. By E.M. Franks. I had been looking for guidance on the laydown gearbox strip down and there it was, a step by step guide to stripping and servicing.
