Found these in one of the boxes and they are obviously end caps for springs but can anyone tell me exactly where they should go? Many thanks Ron.

I think they are off old Armstrong rear shocks.
Thanks Bert. I knew that I had seen them somewhere before, it must have been when I owned the bike in 1960. Guess that I won't be needing them now. Thanks again Ron.

Hi Bert,
Definitely Armstrongs, there were only 2 spring load settings and the change was achieved by rotating the rings you have.
My Feb. 1957 99 was fitted with them even though theychanged to Girling typein after 1956.
I have just stripped them completely to fit new rods and seals but I think that they are beyond economic repair.
Pity you didn't have the rest ofthe bits asI would have gladly purchased them as I am trying to keep it original.

Wish that I could help but unfortunately those 2 collars are the only bits that I have. I just hope that another member might have use of them because they are in good nick and I probably couldn't bring myself to binning them. Good luck with your search. Ron.
