My 1960 model 99 Dominator enginehas been totally rebuilt. It seems to have intermittent oil starvation to the rocker box.The oil seems to be going straight back to the tank instead of up the rocker box feed. Can anyone help please?
Has anyone out there got a Parts List for around 1961? Could you please let me know the part number for the bottom yoke for a 1961 Model 50. I guess it mightbe the same for all Slimline Featherbeds.
Can someone please let me know the correct tyre pressures for a 1960 Jubile Deluxe.
Thanks

Hi
The 99 I have just bought had an oil soaked clutch. There doesn't seem to be any leakage from the crankshaft seal, so I'm hoping the chaincase just had too much oil. I'm fitting a clutch operating rod seal just in case.
Hi Chaps - for some time I've been following the progress of the Brit-Bikes (USA) Commando electric starter conversion - it looks as though they are ready to start marketing it but it seemsvery expensive and complex to fit.
The bike is a standard1960/61 Domi 99, using Roy Bacon twinrestoration book as a referance it was always my plan to usehis decription to finish my bike in ie.
I have a 1961 Dominator 99. Engine was rebuilt a few years ago with new valves, guides, valve springs, all from Mick Hemmings. Bottom end was also done.
Hello I'm Steve - I've got a 750 Mk4 Commando that to be honest I've never had running properly. It runs on one cylinder, sputters on the other, ocassionally fires on both.
I'm rebuilding my 1972 750 Commando in the basement, don't have a shed or garage.
There's been a lot of discussion on getting 8 thou clearance between the rotor and stator.
I have recently taken the top end of my 1949 ES2 apart for a de coke and think that I may need a new piston or at least new rings.
I am about to start the restoration of a 1938 ES2, can anyone recommend a supplier (if any exist) of parts for older Nortons? I am new to bikes of this age so welcome any advice comments!

I want to change the magneto to electronic ignition on my 1955 dominator 88 to make it more reliable as it is harder to start when hot and i believe this might help , can anyone advise on the best system and a rough idea of cost ,
Annoying little problem with my '72 Roadster- my kickstart rubber keeps sliding off. Hardly the most complex tech issue.
Is it possible to incorporate a facility to edit and/or cancel one's postings as the fingers-moving-faster-than-the-brain character flaw from which I suffer often renders these sort of tweaks necessary?
Hi , Anyone know the exact colour and where to get the paint for my 1955 it looks like a gun metal metallic and silver , i have a few blemishes that need doing chain case etc .

A friend of mine had to buy a pair of new commando crankcases after a major letting go of a con rod bolt. After 4,000 miles he stripped the rebuilt engine to investigate poor compression.
I am re-building a '57 Featherbed Inter 500 and have all the parts except the footbrake pivot, where it fits to the frame gusset. Does anyone have a photo of one or know where I can get one. I can make one from a drawing or photo.
Re the ignition switch on a 99 dommi, Mine can be turned either left or right with the key and starts in either position. . Why and what is the reason of this.
Hi, I'm a Norton newbie. Just bought a basket of bits that is supposed to be a 72 Roadster , pre Combat - drum front and rear (still to trace the history via this site).
I am restoring a 1953 Model 7 with Armstrong rear shocks. The springs and covers are tidy but the damper units are tired. I tried Hagon at Stafford bike show but they could not help. Does anyone know of anyone who rebuilds damper units?.
