Plunger shrouds?

Forums

...thanks to all who advised on the (safe) removal of the plunger units from my ES2, I still have the full complement of fingers and eyes so broadly a success. I also have a huge bill for cleaning products to remove sixty years of fossilized grease and Ernest Marples era rust so now, does anyone know of a source for stainless steel plunger shrouds? I'm all for originality but there's not a lot left to salvage. This forum is the business.

Thanks!

Hi Adam,

I bought a set of plunger shrouds recently from Will Horgan at Stainless Classics, www.stainlessclassics.com Not cheap but a good fit and superb finish, He also does a lot of other parts for singles, he has used my stuff for patterns. Hope this helps.

Ian.

I had the same problem and I found a piece of stainless with the right inside diameter, then had the outside diameter turned down.

Make a nylon insert for the stainless so as you can hold the nylon in the chuck and a have a couple of inches inside the piping. The polish to a good finish. Hope this is of use.
