Hi all.

Where would you recommend to get my fuel tank Fully restored and painted Looking like new again hopefully?:)))

... with riding around with that one - just looks neglected. I have heard that the current crop of Indian tanks is much better than earlier ones. The little BSA C11 I'm slowly rebuilding has what looks like an Indian tank (or a NOS one someone's found) and it's excellent quality.

I did actually buy an Indian fuel tank, hmmmmm It doesn't look bad to be honest, but I don't think the dimensions are quite right. I would really like to restore mine As the fuel tank number matches my paperwork and it does need restoration:))

Any ideas and I'm Bristol based for a fuel tank restorer

I thought I would post a few pictures of an Indian fuel tank reseller on fleabay. 100% feedback and lots of happy customers.

I said I would much rather restore my original one as to be honest, I spent so much on this restoration with frame straightening gearbox magneto engine overhauling and forks being straightened that I think if I used an Indian one it would just let it down

The tank repair can be carried out at any competent panel shop. If you want to retain a nickel chrome finish you will be needing some serious metal surface recovery ££££.

Once replated the painted panels can be applied. What's important is that you measure and trace the three painted panels so they can be replicated by a specialist. Sorry Bristol is not my area, I have Dream Machine locally who carry out that type of work.  I'm sure Bristol members will point you in the right direction. George Cohen used someone in your area with very high standards.

Thanks ever so much for that Jon.  Making the chain case fit and all the brackets. Realise that the lower gearbox bolt has a stud or bolt thread for the lower chain case mount. Luckily enough, I've got a very nice M18 to copy and measure

I've used Dennis's Motorcycle Resprays in Cirencester for many years now.  Does a very good job on all ages of bike and at a reasonable price.   Not sure what he does about the chrome bits, worth asking.
