Hello all - my recently rebuilt Commando 920 has done 700 miles and is due for the head to be 're-torqued' - any advice ? e.g. slacken-off each nut individually or all nuts together and then re-tighten etc.
When I fit my rocker spindles so the notches on the covers line up , the spindles partially obscure the oil-ways in the head. Could someone please tell me if this is correct. Cheers, Matt - New Zealand
Just got hold of a 2/1 manifold for my commando. set up for Amal single. It only has two mounting holes, I've one on my 650(an Amal)that has twoadditional holesinside the manifold. Has anyone run a 2/1 with only bolt holes on the outer flange?

I have just bought a 1953 ES2, it is my first old bike (apart from a 79 Kawasaki Z650), I have read about older bikes for a while before taking the plunge, so it is all a bit of a mystery to me.
Hi does anyone know what length ( between the eyes) the shocks should be for a 1954 model 7 ?

I'm thinking for practicality of changing my 1975 MK3 to single carb. Some people recommend a 36mm Mikuni, others a 34mm Amal MK2.
I have recently bought a Commando but have only just noticed the frame number plate from the headstock is missing.
I have a slimline 99 that I am restoring which has had the chain guard brackets removed from the swinging arm. Does anyone know of anyone who can fabricate some?

Recently I acquired a magneto replacement boyer set up. Don't know if any have done this, but I am at a loss as to how to time it? I have timed magnetos quite a few times with degree wheel, dial indicators and such.
This question must have been answered many times but can anyone recomend a grade of oil for the 1947 ES2, I have tried a mono grade 40 but causes smoking until the engine warms, my thoughts are try a 30.
can anyone advise me which is the best seat to buy for my 61 slimline, beit looks/comfort, and also price! many thanks dave
My cherished650SS was stolen in 1968 from Acton W3 and may JUST be still around? Certainly worth a try! Sadly, no numbers recalled. Atlas red tank, Alpine air horns, Cibie headlamp. I have black & white photos.

Matt Beckett is looking for aNorton that was owned by his father in the 50s or 60s. The registration numberwas GOK 692. He hassome excellent photo's of the bike from back then and wonders if anyone still owns it?

Has anyone got information on the dominator red in powder coating .I can get from rs paints the correct norton red for wideline dominators , but would like to do some of the parts in powder

Hello, I have removed two swingarm pinions by using the front isolastic center bolt as an extractor which is described in the Norton shop service manual. some times they come out rather hard, otherseasily if no rust has occured.
I have rcently imported a commando from the U.S originally a roadster it has been used off road/flat track.
Does anyone know of replacement handlebar electrical switchgear that can be used for a MK3, please - I understand the original Lucas parts are no longer available?
