1959 Model 99 spoke type
Hi, I am restoring a 1959 model 99 and wanted to know if the wheels had the single butted spoke or used the straight type of spoke. I have various wheels to fit featherbed bikes and there are both types in use.

I bought a 1960 99 to restore and decided to start it to get an idea of what didn't work or might need doing before stripping. It started fairly easily and there were no nasty noises.
Has anyone a list of torque figure to use when rebuilding an 1954 ES2 Engine, mine is an alloy head, and any must change bits when re-building the engine?

Hi, I am wondering if the new Dunlops with the TT100 grip pattern are as good as a more modren tread pattern? I have a 750 Commando and she is on 30 year old tyres, that's the last time she has seen the outside .
Hi one and all, i have a 750 commando head ,which i was told it was a combat head .It does have a c stamped between the exhaust covers and the head surface is well machined (high compression).
any body know the paint code for thin red pin stripe on tank.

Has anyone fitted a 961 Cafe Racer Flyscreen to a 961 sport, it looks like it should fit OK but have not seen a Sport with a screen fitted. If not is there a suitable screen available to fit the Sport?
Looking through my most recent issues of Roadholder, I came across Kevin Feltoe's article on setting up his sidecar. No doubt, Kevin's musings were intended to fill pages and be entertaining.
As some might know, I am in the process of restoring a Norton Electra. The camshafts are showing signs of damage on the lobes. I do have the manual and (Provisional) parts book photocopy from Bruce Main Smith for the bike.
Does anyone know the actuall lengths of all the spokes inner and outer L/H and R/H for both front and rear wheels? Seems like it should be simple but I am getting sort of spoke dislexic (probably spelt that wrong)

I have managed to get hold of a right angle speedo drive for my pre-war inter but it has no gear on it. I have a 43T gear that screws onto the hub. I have seen mention of 43T to 14T for the 21inch wheel. Is this correct?

Having got my rods to fit the crank i now need to balance them as they are not the same.I have narrowed the differenc to the big end caps so anyone know the best place to remove material from?Also when cleaning and checking the timingside crankcas

Has anyone had first-hand experience with Tri-Spark or Pazon ignitions? Tri-Spark certainly are very proud of their products....but at the end of the day, are they all that much better than Pazon?
I have read of people fitting CBR 600 fork internals into commado forks, does anyone know which model CBR forks are suitable, and how much effort is involved in making them workable?
