This may be a daft question......
There are lots of different "whites" in cellulose, but is there a specific "black" for Norton Commandos? Also, are they painted in cellulose , 2-pack, enamel etc?

Hi, what paint color is used on the silver/grey items likeyokes, fender stays, air filter etc. on Commando's?Might there be a modern equivalent? Cheers, Bennie

What is the best way to clean carb bodies without damaging them.
What is the correct main jet size, ive seen 130,170 and 120 recommended.

Having recently aquired a Manx Norton I am in the process of bringing it up to standard.
I have had to remove the Racing Magneto and found it to have an electronic conversion.
Hi, Can any body tell me the following torque settings for a 1965 Atlas:
Oil pump worm L/H.
Standard Camshaft sprocket nut.

When I obtained my mkIII commando last year, I planned on upgrading the brakes to something a bit more modern. The brakes that are currently fitted have some nice steel braided hoses, and the brakes themselves are Lockheed disc brakes.
Hi all - any ideas - my Mk2A (upped to 920cc) is now run-in and runs a treat. I have today noticed that it is unhappy revving to over 4200 rpm - the engine just coughs - as soon as I back-off on the throttle she's fine.
Mike Pemberton informs me that my Model 50 cylinder head was delivered yesterday (3/20/12) with no duties asked.

To bung or not that is the question. I dismantled the swing arm and the felt bungs were in both ends of the pivot but in the manual I dont see any in the drawing. Seems like they should be there to me but..........
As stated, this 195819S had sat for 40 years unloved and unused.

Woooaaaahhhh! It doesn't stop like my Honda CBR!! I hear that I can have the front brake modified by RGM(?). Any idea how much? Is there a Japanese/Triumph one I can use instead? What do you suggest apart from ride slowly?

Can anyone advise me on what type of oil to put in my 1956 19S gearbox? Also how much oil does it hold and is there an oil level hole in the gearbox?
Having crushed the 2nd speedo gearbox in only a few miles, something must be wrong with the setup or order of spacers. The first gearbox came with a flanged spacer to go inside the hole in thegearbox.

I have a usually reliable 1961 Dominator 99 which now hastotal electrical failure. It happened after I moved the newcombined horn/dipswitch which may or maynot be relevent.

How much oil do i put in 1951 es2 engine & lay down gearbox. Also what size are the fixing pins for the knee grips.Mine has two in each rubber.Has any body got a rear pillion footrest.

A 20 year old in my neighborhood purchased a 650ss to restore & is making slow progress on the project. With spring around the corner & no bike to ride in the near future, he acquired a BSA B25 for cheap.
My 88SS has the book valve clearances - 6 thou inlet, 8 thou exhaust. It is very 'clattery'! The 'standard' 88 clearances are 3 thou and 5 thou respectively.
