Site email doesn't work
I have tried a couple of times to email members/send messages from the site by clicking on the poster's name. I get a "Form" to fill in with space for a title and a space for text. I fill these in and the message is refused.

I have been building a bike from restored components and have a question over the order of building the headstock bits.
I have recently restored a 1972 Interpol. It was a police bike. The frame and engine number is 200103, March 1972. It has a NON Combat engine. All I need to know is, is it a Mk 2 etc?

If there are any Norton owners from the Aberdeen area attending the Lanark show; please call in to the Grampian Classic Motorcycle Club stand.
I am starting the restoration of my 1956 Dommie 88 originally painted (I think) Polychromatic Grey. From previous posts I think that the ICI paint code for this is L89,9305B â but I wonder if anyone can let me know what the RAL equivalent is?
Hi,
Anyone tried this? my brother has a '58 99 and has recently acquired a 650ss head.
Does it matter which side of the bike the adjustment side of the vernier isolastics go on? Drive side, or timing side? I wouldnt think it would matter would it?

Am I right in believing that the mudguard bridge on Roadholdersare a different size on wideline models to slimline models ( after 1961?)
If so what is the difference?
Cheers Mick

These are from my 1956 Model 50 and about to reassemble -besides fork oil do I need to lubricate/grease any of the components?
What about the rear shock absorberunits, they have been partly dismantled for chroming and painting only?
Hi All,
Just stripped down the petrol tap on my wideline ES2. The corks are past saving, I thought I read somewhere that ethanol affects cork, is this correct? are there any cork replacements that are not affected?
I have recently acquired a 1947 ES2 where the previous owner has run the bike with the primary chaincase âdryâ and has used chain lube to overcome the problem of a leaking chaincase.

To everyone, and Alec Stevens who has just had this problem, there is a problem with entering text into the message boards when you are using Internet Explorer version 9.
I just bought some new fangled electrics for my Electra restoration project. I have a power box, a coil and an electronic ignition. I also bought a mounting bracket.
Has anyone any experience of the replacement, pattern Norton parts being made in India and widely marketed through eBay?
Up to the 50's, most vehicles, 2 or 4 wheeled, used the negative earth electrical system. When exactly did Norton change to positive earth? If I remember rightly (well, it was a long time ago!) my '53 Dominator 88 was negative earth.
I am helping with the rebuild of a long silent Atlas we would like to paint the tank the red that was an option in 1963. From the literature it looks different from the later Commando red and lighter than the Electra dark red.
