HELP !

Can an kind person help me with the correct carburettor jet sizes and needle position for my 1975 mk3 850 electric start commando

ps ignition timing would also be appreciated

Don't have a Mk3 but Haynes manual shows 932 Amals with 260 mains, 928/104 needle jets (special cutaway choke tube 928/107) and needle in top position. Throttle valve is 3.5. Timing is normal 28 deg.BTDC or 31 with electronic ign.

You may want to ask on the 'Access Norton' site as I just looked at carb tech on this (NOC) site after I replied! and find different settings, at least 3 for 850's.

Hi Paul, from my MK111 850 ES Commando owners manual Tech Datareads as follows;

Carburetors

Type Amal 932(dual), Main Jet:230, Throttle Valve: 3/half, Needle Jet: 106, Needle: 928/104, Needle position: Lowest notch.

Ignition Timing BTDC, Fully Advanced:28, Contact points gap: 0.014/0.016 inch, Spark Plug: Champion N7Y, Gap: 0.023- 0.028 inch
