Hi All,
I have been asked a question by a member that I cannot come up with a definitive answer for.
When rebuilding the front wheel of of a standard 850 MkIII Commando, what is the offset from the disk mounting surface to the centre line of the rim.
I have found a mention in Captain Nortons notes that it should be 1 13/16" (That's One and Thirteen Sixteenths)
Does that sound right ?
I could go and measure mine but I am not sure I could do it withsufficientaccuracy with it mounted on the bike.
Thanks
Tony

So, to answer my own question ...
I have taken my front wheel out and measured:-
The rim width is 69mm
The gap between a straight edge on the disk mounting surface to the edge of the rim is 13mm
So the offset is 47.5mm
Which is 1 7/8"
Close enough to the 1 13/16 mentioned above.
I have passed the information back to the guy requesting it.
