Long Roadholder forks refurbishment

Forums

These are from my 1956 Model 50 and about to reassemble -besides fork oil do I need to lubricate/grease any of the components?

What about the rear shock absorberunits, they have been partly dismantled for chroming and painting only?

Your advices would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Martyn.

If you are using the original fork stanchions, a coating of grease prior to fitting in the covers is useful to prevent rust - the original stanchions were not chrome plated. If the stanchions are chrome plated, wax polish is a good protectant.

Thanks Colin, just going to get some fork oil and do a final reassemble.
