I'm wondering if it's a practical proposition to fit a kill switch to the Lucas MOIL magneto. It would be really useful to have such a facility, but I can't figure out what one would earth in order to kill the mag. can anyone help please?
Hi, I need some advice on how to get a gear off my crankshaft... I've split the crank cases and pretty much everything is now off apart from one gear on the end of the crank.
I'm overhauling the Roadholder forks on my 1957 ES2 and it's clear that I will need new bushes and seals. My illustrated parts list is proving useless as usual (the parts numbers used don't seem to correspond to any others in use!).
I hope to be able to attend this event. So far, the cheapest, and quickest, way of crossing the channel seems to be via the tunnel. Once off the train, it should not take much more than an hour to reach the site. Anyone else taking this route?
The new Yorkshire branch web site is up and running in the new format. We were unable to update the old site so it was dormant for a number of years. The new site has lots of details aboutthe branch and the activities that we undertake.
This topic has probably been beaten to death, but having gone through old posts, I haven't found out what kind of plates others use in a belt drive primary case. So what do you folks use?
Having returned to Norton ownership with the acquisition of a featherbed Model 50 I find it dispalysa film of oil around the barrel and upper crankcase that would seems to be coming from a cracked and ill-fitting tappet adjustment cover.I understa
I would like to arrange ventilation in my primary chaincase to keep the belt drive cooler.
Has anyone had this done? What pattern of ventilation works well - holes? slots?
I know its a well talked about subject but can I ask foropinions on what are the best options to cure wet sumping on a750, ie. is it worth fitting the late type timing cover as per 850's, or an oil line valve, tap orwhatever?

I have tried a couple of times to email members/send messages from the site by clicking on the poster's name. I get a "Form" to fill in with space for a title and a space for text. I fill these in and the message is refused.
Does any body know where I can get the surrounding alloybezel for the Lucas headlamp medallion .?
I ordered a new medalion from RGM and it came without the surround. They can not get them.

If there are any Norton owners from the Aberdeen area attending the Lanark show; please call in to the Grampian Classic Motorcycle Club stand.
I am starting the restoration of my 1956 Dommie 88 originally painted (I think) Polychromatic Grey. From previous posts I think that the ICI paint code for this is L89,9305B â but I wonder if anyone can let me know what the RAL equivalent is?
Hi,
Anyone tried this? my brother has a '58 99 and has recently acquired a 650ss head.
