16H Project

Forums

Hi All,

Here's a couple of photos of my 1936 16H which I'm planning on restoring. Before dismantling I'm trying to get a list of all things that need bought/replaced. If anyone can give me info on any incorrect/missing parts I'd be grateful.

Obviously the seat is wrong. The toolbox is later and the mudguard stays are wrong. The speedo is missing along with the bracket and the riders pegs are wrong but bent anyway so will be replaced.

Any info would be appreciated.

Regards,

Andy.

Hi Andy,

I'm nearing the end of the re-assembling of a supposedly restored 1938 ES2 I bought sighted in photo's only. What a mess it turned out to be. I've basically pulled the whole bike down and assembled again bar the engine. I'm really hoping the guy I bought it off didn't put the engine together as well. It was put together really badly with so many things just bodged up. One thing I discovered is that list you mentioned just keeps growing, usually a bit more after something is ordered and already in the post. Drive's me nuts, especially as parts mostly are coming from the UK to Australia. I think the end is near, but I've learned that the list doesn't end until that last nut will be done up; and then I'll be moving onto the ongoing maintenance list !! Have fun,

Glenn
