Heard a rumour that Norton will be open for spares within two weeks, that's good news if it's true.
Hi all,
Ist ride this year on my 2017 961 and when applying the rear brake nothing happened, the pedal bottoms out and absolutely no brake effect.
I have just checked the needle groove position on the carburettor as I was suspicious that the bike was running too lean. ( 1956 Dominator 99 ) due to the very light colour of the plugs and difficulty re starting from hot.
Not many people use Avatar images is this why?
Tried to put a "Mugshot" on the site loaded photo and it appeared upside down for some reason seems to be an uploading error somewhere!
Cheers
see Here Robert Tuck!
One is a Lucas SSU700P/1, The other one a Dominator? but no Medallion hole had a PRS8 switch and Ammeter in it but sadly no Chronometric speedometer!
John
1958 Dominator, the headlight shell has a hole 1” diameter between the light/ ignition switch and the ammeter. What should fit in the hole? Any help would be appreciated.
kind regards
Richard
Hi Im considering buying a Norton n15cs. Its a restored import with no provenance and asking price £9000 its ben on the market for18months at least which makes me suspicious but a part ex on my existing bike is tempting.
A road test on 6th February 1958, ...noted high oil consumption 1,200 to 1,500 Mpg!
Probably thrashed by the journalist's!
How much was burned and how much was leaked?
Also noted was the bike was over-geared in Top.
Yes, a secret development of the Norton Jubilee, just sit on the bike, think of a wish and for £1,500 the Norton Aeronautica will whisk you away, no pollution dirty fossil carbon fuel burning, no Road tax, no spending money on tyres, no problems w
I have now completed 260 miles after rebuilding the top end on my 1956 Dominator 99 and re torqued the head twice after each 100 miles and appreciate that there is some way to go yet. I fitted a solid copper gasket.
Hi all, i am looking to change the seat on my roadster, will an interstate seat fit? its an early type frame that the centre stand bolts to the frame. thanks in advance
Does anyone have the dimensions of Navigator clutch springs please. Free length, wire diameter, number of coils and outside diameter of spring.
Thanks,
John

Where does the spacer item 33 part number 064016 shown in the parts book fit?
Does it go under the bracket that supports the back light assembly?
There is not one on my bike.
Can any one advise me on the piston clearance on a 750 commando
In my parts book (64 on Jubilee & Navigator) it lists a “Spray Baffle” part # 23652. Part doesn’t seem to exist anywhere nor pictures of it. Anyone got an idea what it is (& for) please - also, is it for the later Jubilee?
I am in the process of giving my 650SS something of a spring clean, stripping items from the machine to get at and clean parts that can't be properly reached during 'normal' cleaning.
Does anyone know if you can get new pinion gears, those in the NOC shop are second hand. Mine are pitted and worn. I would rather replace with new if possible.
I have just rejoined after a gap of six years. I had a 750 which was a joy to ride when running but (imho) very unreliable.
Could other members advise on the following:
Hi. The swing arm of my Dommie project has a good set of original steel/rubber bushes in. I was thinking of getting the frame powder coated but I’m not sure that the swing arm bushes would survive the heat of the powder coating oven.
Slowly I learn.
Lesson 1: if the bike won't start in one or two kicks, don't waste energy but feed it with a fresh plug. Keep a plug and spanner in your jacket pocket. You know it makes sense! Don't give up and buy a Mikuni.
One fin on each barrel Atlas and Dominator is chipped where, or has anyone got some cast iron pieces for repairs?
John
Am I learning, isn't this bike fitted with an earlier cylinder head? And an earlier timing cover?
Matching Numbers?
John
Hi all,
I am rebuilding my MK3 and am doing away with the Airbox, Oldbritts.com sell a bracket that holds the LH side panel when the airbox bracket is not there.
Hi
I wonder if anyone can help with my rewire problems please.
The bike was a just-about runner and I'm slowly working my way through a long list of issues the next of which is the electrics.
Bought this off Ebay, fits perfectly, much cheaper than the Andover-norton equivalent £30!
John
Can anyone assist me with detail regarding the spacing of the rear wheel bearings of a 1930's 16H please.
