I currently have the cylinder head (cast iron) off my 1952 ES2 to repair a couple of broken fins. I was quite surprised to see a domed piston with the dome height above the joint face of about 1 cm.

I have a 1955 ES2 and the oil tank has a feed pipe connection at the rear of the tank, in addition to the usual outlet and return pipe connections at the front of the tank.  Is this normal and if so where does it feed to?  Unable to find any infor

Hi all, an anyone recommend a good wheel builder in the Somerset / Dorset area who can supply a new stainless steel rim and spokes and rebuild my Navigator rear wheel?

Forgive by abysmal electrical knowledge but how can I tell whether my Lucas Altette horn is 6 or 12V?

It barely blips on 6V but on 12V it is super loud albeit very raucus.

Having trouble with the thread on the crown lug even with a new adjuster nut for the head bearing from n o c . It is unbelievable how both old and new nuts are so tight.

Yet another query - sorry.  Can someone advise if there’s supposed to be a gasket between the oil pump & crankcase please on a late Jubilee.

 I'm working on the lads Marlin which has a badly blistered laquer coat.  Going to respray but removing the laquer from delicate areas is proving difficult without finishing up in the glass matt. Any ideas?.

I have a Norton model 50 single, 1957; could anybody advise the correct battery for this bike and a serial number?  I’ve been told that it hasn’t been converted and that it’s a 6volt large. This is all I know. Many thanks

Having read Niell Watkins article in April Roadholder it seems I could have a problem with the crankshaft seal. My spare parts list shows part D12/931 but does not indicate location and my maintenance manual is likewise blank.

So after last Saturday´s ride which ended in an oily mess around the bottom of the bike I followed Nick´s advice to check the oil level. Oil tank was almost empty.

Boredom is setting in and I have decided to smarten up my 650.

It is standard slimline without the chrome tank badges and is currently metallic silver, but it needs a respray.

Yes those lovely bowls that sit under early Manx tanks. I’m lucky to have a pair on my machine but sadly one weeps fuel from the taper valve. Cleaned,lapped and polished butt still weeps.
