Rear number plate
Did Norton increase the width of the rear number plate when 7 digit numbers were introduced in 1963?
My bike has a seven digit number squeezed onto a 6 digit plate, the first number and the "A" hang over the edge of the plate!

My new Amal concentric carb, bought to replace the TT carb on my 1959 Inter, seems to reach to the underneath of the tank even before I've fitted the cables. Is there such a part as a right-angled adaptor for the throttle and choke cables?

My Commando is popping out of first gear - not all the time but often enough to make a wet cheddar gorge tricky. I measured the kickshaft end float at 14 to 15 thou and decided to put a 5 thou shim in there and see how that went.
I,m fitting liners to a 750 block to get it back to std bore (it had damaged skirts) and as a matter of interest i weighed the new Hepolite branded std size pistons (made by JCC in Taiwan) and compared it to the +.060 thou JP pistons that were fit

Royal Enfield Bullet alternators look very like the unencapsulated Lucas ones on Nortons. Would one fit? They are cheap and certainly effective - the one on my 1998 Bullet works a treat.
Hi guys
With the take over of Avon tyres by Goodyear, Roadrider tyres in 100/90 × 19" are getting hard to find.
After finally getting my rebuilt engine run in, its time to concentrate on the fine tuning.

Two years in and I have just about got my Electra oil tight apart from a stubbornly little weep from the primary chain case oil filler cap.
