When I install the rear wheel on my Electra and adjust the chain to the proper tension, the chain is running too far to the outside and brushing against the bracket that attaches the chain guard.

I’ve tried to seal the petrol tank on my Norton with Petseal as it was rusty. It’s a two part epoxy type sealer, ethanol resistant. Followed the instructions and kept it indoors and very warm for 2 weeks.
Just been think about fitting electronic ignition to the above. I realise this topic comes up regularly but looking for general guidance.
The old 12 volt lead/acid battery on my Dommi 99 has died after 5 years and I was wondering if replacing it with a modern Li-Ion or AGM battery. Is this a realistic option for bog standard 1960's bike or not?

in the process of stripping things down to fit a new gearbox sprocket to my mk3 850 interstate , one fitted is a 23 tooth , is this standard and should I stick with this size or perhaps change as I see there are a few alternate sizes available
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 1928 16H and noticed that the half time pinion (which has three keyways) has the letter 'H' stamped next to one of the keyways.

I've stripped my mk 2 '74 commando engine down and it seems someone in the past has fitted it with mk 3 crankcases - see attached picture. Everything else including the timing chain cover, primary case, crankshaft etc. seems mk 2.

I thought it was about time I fitted new cables to the fronr brake and clutch on my 650SS,as they've both been on the bike for years, so I ordered one of each from Venhill Engineering. They arrived this morning. However, they don't fit.
I have been able to source new tensioner plungers and springs, but not the white plastic spring stops. It seems they are only available from A-N with the plunger.

How should I set up the valve timing for my 37 16H please? There are no stamps on the wheels but a previous owner has painted some red marks on, but I'm not sure of their relevance.
I have a commando that I am recommissioning. The front shoes have been contaminated and need changing. I have a new set to go in and while I am at it, I will be adding a stiffening kit to the assembly.

My single carb 376 with a light filter persists on running rich and sooting plugs. Even the expensive fine wire ones. And despite my best efforts they are not happy to be cleaned as the soft ceramic insulators are now not glazed and soak up
