Does anybody know the recommended cross-section dimensions of the starter motor cables? I have to make up new cables, but do not have any old ones for reference, and recognise that they should ideally be beefed up anyway.

I need new seat fixings, mines the older type seat. Does anyone know the length of the Terry seat clip. Parts have them in stock.
Hi I recently joined the NOC and was wondering if there are many members living in the West of Scotland.
In preparing my Deluxe side panels for spraying I noticed that the bottom of the left panel flares out, but not the right panel.
I now need to get my old seat sorted, the seat pan is one is the early types with terry clips. Heard lots of good reports from people who have used Leightons.
Have NOC considered setting up a tool hire/tool share system?
I have offered loan of a valve seat cutter to a NOC member but I am acutely aware that good engineers are reluctant to share tools (don't know what that makes me!).
For better or worse I have just bought a 2017 961 sport. So far so good, it looks great, Sounds amazing (decatted) yes a bit lumpy but I new that and anyway I am used to old British bikes.
I have a 75 mk3 interstate commando. The petrol tank has gold transfers on both the Norton logo and a single gold stripe transfer around a black background. I have seen others with a double fine stripe around the tank.
Does anyone know how the name commando came about. I can recollect reading somewhere that it was because someone involved in its creation was a member of the commandoes in the army.
Hi. I’ve rebuilt the gearbox for my Dommie 99 project.
So, I've finally got my 1930 Big 4 on the road. I've taken it for a couple of shakedown rides in my local area. Really enjoyed myself. First ride I broke down 3 times and identified a petrol starvation issue. I'd replaced the cork seals in the
This may have been asked before, but has anyone fitted an air filter to a featherbed frame M50? If so please have you got any pictures, drawings etc.
Hi, does anyone recognise the attached plate? It is from a 1959 Featherbed frame Model 50. It is approximately 41/2” x 31/4” and the two studs are 21/2” apart, although they are not quite in line.
Anyone know where I can get a set of 961 cush drive rubbers? The parts dept at factory is still closed, and I’ve tried both Talon and Central Wheels with no luck.
Before i removed the mag tonight I noticed the mag chain was very slack and marking the top of the oil pump.
Removing the Tek screw from my 3.50 x19 Avon SM happily did not lead to a deflation but I am not confident that a 5mm intrusion straight into the carcass is safe. So a new tyre is needed.
My ES2 now starts and runs thanks to a bit of advice from the group - new carb fitted.
I have a couple of bikes both over 40 years, one being a Jubilee. To get free tax and no mot, do I have to change my log books to show they are historic, can I do this online. Will I have to insure the bikes before I do that.
Thanks
1959 Model 50.
While addressing issues of poor tickover and general carburation settings I am going to re-time the bike first. So, checked the books and found a disparity.
Does anybody know what temperature the barrels on a Commando can reach? Any suggestions for a suitable paint. Must be durable and black.
Hi, Is it possible to harden the valve seats on a Navigator, so that normal unleaded fuel can be used?
If yes are the cylinder heads sold in the NOC shop already hardened?
Thanks for any help
My 99 with K2f can be quite hard to start, difficult to get reliable idle. Bike rides well at moderate speeds but sometimes cuts out at junction and can be hard to restart.
Can anyone please confirm the design bore at the big end of the conrod (without shells) on a 500cc dominator in an untorqued state? Mine seem to be oval with a ~10thou larger dimension top to bottom than side to side.
Thanks
Here is a picture of a pair of gauges marked “To set at”. 0.010/0.012 and 0.014/0.016 thou.
Can anyone please tell me where I can buy the correct tool for the Wheel Bearing retaining Lock-ring ?
Out for the Sunday ride on the 99 and son on the Atlas ,we thought a run down to Leigh in kent would test the bikes and look at a Fishing lake for Phil.
