Gauze oil filter
I bought an Electra a while back with an external oil filter already in place. It looks good and seems to function well.

This is just to show the tickover with TT carb and internal slide stop. Previous owner (the late Bernard Harding) fitted it.
We're all used to buying stuff from the mainland, since Jan 1st this has become a lot more complex as much of our kit is not actually made there & thus may now be liable for extra charges.
I have had the oil pumps on my Model 50 & Dommi 99 both refurbished by RGM however, the relative performance seems very different.
Following much correspondence on the lack of compression on my newly assembled 1959 Model 50 - I never really got to the bottom of the problem. I completed the assembly with the rebore, new piston, gaskets, lapped valve seats etc.
I'm due to take delivery of a 1930 Big 4. I'm new to ownership of a bike of this era. I've ordered various manuals and literature but while waiting for it to arrive and doing as much research as I can.
My 1957 International 500cc has a 10tt9 carb fitted which is proving troublesome for regular riding and difficult starting issues. Has anyone fitted a Monobloc or Concentric instead? Recommendations please.
I have had to get a new gearbox shell for the Mk3 because the known bearing housing crack and an oval top mounting bolt bore. The new casing came from A-N via Norman White.
Whats the best adhesive for sticking the rubber strips to the tank badge.
Thanks.
Hi, Does my Norton 16H 1937 require x3 main bearings or 2 please? Are these available through this spares section?
Thanks,
Gary.
I am tired of looking at the concentric carbs on my 88SS and am thinking of replacing them with shiny new monoblocs. (I know this will probably open a costly can of worms....)
Hi All,
Does the club do bike valuations ?
Thanks Andrew
I have just replaced the valve guides on my 850 mk2a with colsibro guides, these were supplied pre machined, ie the bore could not be reamed and honed to a desired clearance with the stem.
Have about 6 pairs of these kicking around in various states of "usability" , What I have run out of is the internal plastic pipe to create a reserve.
Would somone be kind enough to explaine to me how the returning oil from the pump is in part diverted to become chain lubricant ? What regulates the flow? Thanks Ian
My daughter bought me a set of stainless oval plates and screws set for Christmas thought i would fit them.
hi all

I have a Commando which I need to register with the DVLA for a V5 and age related plate.
I just started my 1961 99SS engine up for the first time in 45 years-ish. It started pretty easily and is mechanically really quiet. The Armours small bore siamese pipes and silencer are pretty efficient too.
I'm having the crankshaft of my 57 88 reground and of course I need to quote what clearance I want. This is not specified in the regrinding data of the manuals.
I have a 1963 Electra with a healthy oil leak at the kick start shaft. The exploded view of the gearbox in my parts manual doesn't show anything resembling an oil seal.
Any suggestions on how I stop this leak?
Thanks.
Anyone know the story behind the emblem Francis Beart placed on his fuel tanks? It doesn’t seem to be mentioned anywhere.
cheers

Hi all
Sorry but another question. My 57 Dommie 88 has an oil return line banjo bolt at the oil tank, this sends oil through a rigid line to the rockers. Completely different to the later set up.
Grateful for advice regarding the best suppliers of suitable batteries for an Electra, ie 2x 6V with the correct dimensions. Many thanks.
