Has anyone fitted de-cat exhausts to their 961 or removed the cat from the exhaust? I was told some time ago that a version would be available from the factory but I guess they have other more important issues to deal with at the moment.

I just ordered two International Rally badges to take the bars we got at the Empire Rally. The badges cost 9.50, which I thought was reasonable. The shipping to USA cost me 10.39, which I thought was very expensive.

Is the 1957 ES2 negative or positive earth?

I just want to thank all the fine people on this website and in this club for the valuable trouble shooting information I have had the pleasure to utilize in the past few years.

Could anyone please shed light on what the correct figure should be for this engine - I have the club Single DVD which gives the figure as 38 degrees for a late(ish) Model 50 being reassembled. Figures I do have vary e.g.

On removing the head from my ES2 the normal alloy head gasket has been found, but also in place is a small circular copper gasket between the top of the cylinder liner upstand and the underside of the head.

Whilst I'm always looking for new blood, it seems strange to me that on checking my branch's members against the definitive list on the website here, there are two members that I have never seen before and certainly haven't attended a meeting.

I have recently purchased an early 30's Norton Inter project. I know it's a bit of a mixture parts, the frame appears to be 1932 road going inter and the engine a 1936 racing inter. I am however a bit stuck as to what the forks are.

Please, can somebody tell me for which Dommi those cylinder heads are? One has the Number 22707 H and the other one T2225 cast in.

Has anyone jetted a concentric for an ES2 recently? I was aware that concentrics potentially used smaller main jets than the monoblocs but I am now down to a 190 and it still seems rich. Has anyone else had the same experience?

Most of us are familiar with the handlbar levers used for the carburettor air slide and magneto advance/retard. These come in two main types apart from some earlier ones that were much longer and the ones unique to the Manx and 500T.

Has anyone had experiance of servicing the rear shocks on an ES2 Swing arm - can they be serviced - is it possible to do it at home or is it a professional job, are there any pit falls or special tools needed? Any advice would be greatful.

Does a blueing of the exhaust pipe where it exits the head mean something is wrong? After about 800 miles on a completely rebuilt engine, my ES2 has this phenomenon.

I was about to order a new UK/europe handlebar from ebay sold as part equivalent 06-4132, it said 3" rise, 26" width. I thought, I will check the width of the old bars, they are 29".

Has anyone had a problem with this breaking when you torque the clutch centre nut ?

Can anyone tell me what length the valves of an early CS1 should be? I have tried using the slightlylater Inter ones but they are too long. This particular CS1 still used coil springs unlike the later Inter which uses Hairpin springs.

Did Norton ever sell a luggage rack for the De-Luxe Jubilee, probably optional equipment.

There was a rack for sale on Ebay last week which looks like a optional extra and not home made.

The Smiths chrono speedo on my 1950 ES2 has a nice patina, but the trip and odometer have stopped working. The speedo itself is fine. Is it possible or advisable for me to get inside and fix this?

Does anyone know where I can get an exploded view picture of the ES2 engine, please.

please could I ask for opinions/advice on which type of thread inserts would be best for the 3/8 studs in the cylinder head that strip/pull out, ie helicoil, silicon bronze, t-serts etc, any info would be appreciated.
