Removing magneto sprocket

Hi, with a full strip down on my 1958 99SS well under way I encountered a problem when trying to remove the sprocket so that I could then take off the very worn chains, well I tried everything, thank goodness I had the service manual handy, I foll

i have a 850 commando i see on ebay you can buy a 34mm carb kit it say.s for 750 or 850 commandos i though the 850 needs the 36 mm mikuni carb but im not too sure

Girder fork Identity

I have a set of Girder forks on my WD 16H which don't seem to be correct for a WD bike. I have recently stripped and rebuilt them and found a number stamped on the lower spindle tube which is 12607

Head steady

My '73 Commando roadster has the head steady mount on the frame blanked off with molded rubber covers. Is this standard? Does this year not have a head steady?

Hi, I am a new new member and although I do not yet own a Norton I am hoping to change that in the near future. I already own a 1951 Royal Enfield Model G but am looking to get another classic bike.

Cylinder head bolts

My ,53 Dommie no.7 has been partly restored and a copper cylinder head gasket fitted at some time, probably fairly recently. However only 2 of the front head bolts are fitted and there is a hole for a third just behind them.

Angela Hemmings

As some of you may be aware Mrs Hemmings has recently been taken ill and will not be in 'The Shop' for a while. I do not know the nature of her illness, but suffice to say it involved an operation, so that's serious enough for me.
