Cylinder block distortion

Anybody had experience with aluminium alloy barrels fitted to Commando's. I have a set from Steve Maney which after 7,000 miles have distorted by upto .002'' adjacent to the through bolt cap heads, on the inside of the bore.

DOHC Manx tacho drive

I am finishing off a rebuild of a 1959 Manx. The drive blade on my tacho drive gearbox (that mounts on the cambox) is too short to engage with the drive slot. Mine is approx 3/8 inch but it should be approx 1 inch overall.

Does any body out there know where I can get a cylinder block rebored and honed to a finished size of less than 0.0002'' ( two tenths of a thou') out of round/ ovality?This is the recommended sizing according to CP pistons, AE technical and others

Cleaning Barbours

As autumn has arrived, I retrieved my Barbour jacket from the back of the garage, sprayed the dust off with the garden hose, and hung it in the hall cupboard. I was then informed by SWMBO that it was, dirty, scruffy, smelly and disgusting.

Suitable leathers

Does anyone have a recommendation for a source for appropriate one piece leathers i.e suitable for a 1950 Norton?

I've looked at new but I don't want to look like a 'keep left' bollard. Know what I mean?

48 ES2 oil feed pipes

im in los angeles and in the midle of restoring my 48 es2..i am not sure how the pipes are fitted from the engine to the oil tank? is there a diagram i can download that will show me the correct way. craig

1954 ES2 valve seats

Hi All,

I have just changed the valve guides on my 1954 ES2 iron cylinder head. The new valves are not seating perfectly hence the seats need recutting slightly to correct this prior to the usual grinding.

I am rebuilding a 1971 750 Commando without indicators,does anyone know of suitable switch gearthatonly has a light and hornswitch.
