I have for many years owned a Wideline twin. In fact, I like it so much I have just bought another one, a 1957 99.

I had to put a pair of new brake shoes onto the rear brake plate of my 650SS restoration.
Please can anybody tell me how I can check the high tension leads contacts within the body of the magneto in a K2FC Lucas magneto?
So, this bike has reverse chamber 389 monobloc carbs. I have fitted new needles and am now going to replace the main jets as they are probably worn like the needles were. The bike has high compression pistons and thorspark electronic ignition.
I've found a few posts on upper shock absorber mountings but nothing similar to my issue
I'm trying to fit a new set of Shocks (From NoC shop) to my slimline 99 but the upper bush will not fit in the frame channel
Have I missed out a page or so from my print of the Factory workshop manual as I can't see any reference to the cam followers!
I was hoping to ask what I should be looking for but I think it's not going to matter any how.
As I know nothing of the history of the engine I have, could anyone give me the dimensions of the cylinder barrel height - From base to headgasket face?
A query. The above event, as I recall, was originally publicised as the 125th Anniversary of Norton celebration event. It seems to have subsequently changed ( been downgraded ?) to the annual Norton Day.
Not wishing to remove the magneto would someone tell me the remedy to overcome an issue in which I get a spark from one plug on my twin but not the other and yet the one cylinder would not fire up at all.
In the light of recent postings both good and bad regarding suppliers, perhaps the "Services" tab could do with an upgrade, and perhaps given a bit of a "splash" to members who may be unaware of its existence. It does look somewhat dated now.
Wellll , finally got the bike, a nice NORTON Dominator 88,cafe racer.
Hello,
my CS1 from 1928 with frame no. 41872 and Engine No. CS14954 needs history information.
First, who can tell me if the bike has "matching numbers" or of what year, and any other info.
Having seen the DSN they are very nice collection of information. I know they have been in production for a very long period but the time was well spent in what has been produced.
The side tank badges on my Atlas have severe pitting on them. They clean up and the chrome does attempt to shine through but that pitting aint going away.
I've heard they're made of a type of pot metal that doesn't take chroming well.
Total rookie here fellas, so please bare with me!
I see the spares scheme will sell you a camshaft for regrinding - where can you get this done?
Is it usual for the T/S big end to wear out before the D/S?
I ask because I've just taken the conrods from the crank and the D/S is on a standard shell and looks pretty good but the T/S is down to the copper and is on a +.020" shell !!
Can anyone point me in the direction of who might be able to furnish me with keys for the steering lock and also Feridax throttle lock on my bike?
The only number/ref I can see on the steering lock says PROVPAT WBB
I have a 1959 99 with distributor can this model be changed to a magneto ?
I recently had the opportunity to test ride the new Norton Commando 961, first, a couple of weeks ago when Norton were doing a test ride day at P&H M/C's, which was a bit of a letdown really as I had to ride in tandem with a few other riders a
I bought a grass track outfit for the engine and box - an 850 Commando that was running on Methonal
Does anyone know if the Tufnol caged gearbox bearings are available, as recommended by Mick Hemmings - supposed to be kinder on the layshaft. All rebuild kits I've seen have roller alternative.
Thanks

Just recieved my copy and am very impressed. It’s a very good read too, not just data and pictures . Very good to assist those building up a basket case .
Now that I have got my Jubilee engine reliably kicking over, I noticed that the pipe above the drive sprocket (see picture) is producing oil (which is now all over the patio).
I am looking at buying a head cam for bike use and a dash cam for the family car .Dont want to spend a fortune , anyone got good advice?.
Hello !
The NOC calendar shows a beautiful Rickman-Commando this month 9/23.
The owner David Warner seems to have a similar problem as I have :
