Can anyone help to identify this bike?
What a super resource this is, Free and easy to use. There will be usefull information in there no matter how much you think you know. Thank you to all who made it possible.
I've just taken my MKIIA gearbox apart and the first thin to address is the cracked shell. I could of coarse buy a new one or......... could I use a pre commando Norton AMC shell?
Could someone tell me the size of thread on the drive side end of the crankshaft please? Specifically on an alternator model.
Thanks in advance,
John
I am currently restoring a plunger Manx and after making new footrests sitting in the correct position it looks like the pedal I have is too long.
This seems an odd issue to me, I've found nothing similar anywhere as yet.
Having an issue with the Monobloc 389 mounted on my Dad's JAPton special.
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me the part number for the spacers that fit between the headlamp and the ears please? I can’t find it in either the roadholder or headlamp sections of the parts book.
Thanks, Mark
Two photos attached.......nor sure what this extra hole is for in the base of the barrel...the exit hole in the barrel was rough/raised around the edge...had to ease back with wet and dry.
I have a 1955 Norton single. It seems to be a Norton ES2 frame with a 19S engine and I assume matching gearbox. Engine number: 61300 K9 82 /113 and Frame Number: K4S 50225
I see a lot and Gearboxes and Engines advertised as 'Built by Dave Coates' - who's he?
For a year or two I have been fiddling with carb on my 99. The bike starts and ticks over very well. It gets along better than most too. But it has had an annoying "POP" several times during a run out and can stall at awkward moments.
AMC altered the geometry by lengthening the valves and shortening the pushrods on the 750 motors. They did not make any recommendations about the earlier 500,600,and 650 twins.
I't's bloody tight - is it a left or right hand nut?
Apology if the answer is on this site somewhere but I’ve searched the forum and gone through roadholder archive and not found it….
Hi, Can anyone suggest why I get this when opening attachments on this forum?
My 1972 commando works on the kickstart, but when I was out on it on Saturday I noticed that the kickstart had dropped down below the exhaust, the bike was still running fine and I can still kick it over once I have moved by hand the leaver back t
I have what I gather is an Italian made frame that doesn't have a VIN number to date it. But the number stamped on the front L/H tank bracket is stamped 064140 so from what I've read it's an 850 from 1974.
Any suggestions on a belt drive set up for a 1957 Model 50?
Hi there,
I've a problem, my primary chaincase is off at the moment, it has no clutch adjustment açess hole in it as found on later models, so before refitting it, do I;
1. Leave it as is with no access to the clutch adjustment.
My '61 ES2, resleeved and bored to 40 thou only 250 km ago, has turned its new oil (GTX 30/50) black. It is not a heavy carbon black, rather like it has been stained.
Not sure if I dreamt this or not. Are our spares team looking for a suitable replacement for the swinging arm bush, aka "silentbloc" bush? I think there was some discussion as to whether or not it was the same as the heavyweight?
Is anyone else having problems with the Android NOC App? It won't open properly, since earlier today (Friday 4/8/23)
I can access the site as usual through my Web browser. I just removed and reinstalled but no better.
Hi fellow strugglers , I have been dealing with Armour motorcycles of Bournemouth and am not best pleased with the results . I have a timing side pipe that I think is useable but I am on my second drive side pipe and neither fit at all well.
Helping a friend get his 16H back on the road. We are nearly there but...there's a persistent oil leak from the bottom of the timing cover joint. I've not seen the surfaces myself (mag drive sprockets must come off of course) but any recommendat
So, a 1960 ES2 engine, coil ignition, 376 carb.
I have been asked a question by a member who is putting together some words to go with his bike when he displays it at a steam rally at the weekend.
in 1960, how much would you have to pay for a dominator 600 delux. Slimline frame.
Modern (rubbish) petrol, over a moth old. Can this be ascribed to running weaker than new stuff?
No guesses, maybes, or buts please. Any facts?
