1935 ES2 front wheel size

Forums

Good Day

Getting started with my first Norton restoration, a 1935 ES2. I have been unable to find out whether my bike (engine number 62349G)had a 19 or 21" front wheel. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I can tell from the parts book I have from 1936 it should have a 19inch front and rear. I think only the model 30 and 40 inters had 21 front and 20 rear.

When I started my restoration about 6 months ago I bought a parts book from www.elk-promotions.co.uk. I don't know what sort of state your bike is in but mine was missing a lot of parts and the parts lists have loads of pictures so it really helped with knowing what I was looking for. Would highly recommend it!

As standard, it would have had identical WM2-19" rims front and rear. The 'Inter' wheel with 21" rim could be fitted as special order for several years. If this was the case with yours then it will be detailed in the factory records which the club can advise on. Do you have the bolt-up brake drum ?
