Help please 16H Norton 1938 fork removal

what is the correct way to remove the front fork assembly from my 16 h

i dont want anything else to break

This is what the manual says;

79. REMOVAL OF FRONT FORKS FROM

FRAME.

Place ablock of wood or jack under the engineof such a height that the front wheel is clear of the ground.

Remove front wheel. (Para. 72.)

Remove front mudguard, held by a bolt holding the guard to the fork and the four bolts holding the guard stays and front stand tothe fork ends.

Remove the handlebars. The bars are held by two splitclips with four bolts to each clip.

Remove the bolts and the bars are free from the head blips.

Remove speedometer cables, inner and outer, from thefork.

Remove steering damper knob from the fork by releasingthe steering column nut.

Turn knob until the rod is released from the ''T''piece at the bottom of the column, and the knob with the rod and the column nutwill leave the fork as one assembly.

Remove the bolt holding the steering damper anchorageplate to the frame. below the head lug.

Remove switch lever from head lamp.

Remove switch panel from the back of. the head lamp,held by three screws.

Remove the wires attached to the bulb holders, and theswitch panel can be passed through thefork girders and rest on the tank.

Remove the head clip bolt and nut. This is composed ofthree parts, the bolt, the sleeve and the hut. Remove the head clip from the fork column.

The head clip must be forced over the end of thecolumn to overcome the action of the fork spring.

Fork will now drop from the frame.

The fork spindles are screwed into the drive side fork arms, and held with a lock nut. They're pushed into the timing side fork arms up to the spindle shoulder and held with the lock nut.
