I'm just about to refurbish my cylinder head and have the options of phosphor bronze or cast iron valve guides. I fitted bronze guides when it was the trendy racing mod about 28 years ago and then cast iron subsequently.

Has anyone got a source for a usable petrol tap or a replacement insert ie the cork and brass forked end and locating screw for a Dommie 99?

Hi, Can anybody tell me the reason why the front fork width changed from 7" to 7 3/8", I am building a cafe racer and have both size sets but not sure of the benefits apart from the obvious ability to have a wider tyre.

Dellortos or 'premier' Amals? Has anyone got a view on the new Amals yet? I was considering a pair of 34mm Dellorto phbe"s, but they sure are expensive !Have Amal suffciantly addressed the "issues"?

Hi I'm a new member and have just purchased a 1968 commando.

I am just about to change the magneto chain on my 1949 ES2 as there is excessive wear and it also appears to be too wide as there is a great deal of sideways play on the teeth.

I have been unable to access the above. When I enter name, and membership number, in the boxes provided, I just get returned to the "Home Page", and still can't get in. Why? John.

The Commando pages recommend setting the crankshaft cheek bolts to 35 ft lb (like the Haynes manuals for Dommies and Commandos). It is generally accepted that this figure is wrong, and the consensus is that 25 ft lb is a better figure.

Back in 2011 Lionel Yexley said slimline tank badges were available in cast brass.

Lionel I have tried to e mail you with out success.

Where are these available please?

I would not have thought that the hardest part to find for my basketcase would be a flat peice of metal with a couple of holes it it...

Anybody have a lead on where to find one of these?

Does anyone make a fair copy of the prewar saddle covers? Mine for a 1937 16H has a Lycett saddle but the cover is shabby with some holes in the Rexine cover and frayed edges etc.

finally got the holes for the tank badges exposed on my 650 ss tank only one stumbling block 2 of the holes have got the bolts still in them but snapped off.

I've recently had fitted a Pazon electronic ignition and would like to complement that with a new electronic voltage regulator. Please can someone recommend a make & type and supplier. Many thanks.

I have a 1950 Norton 500 single and I think it is an ES2 (As the bore is 3.11 in). The cylinder is sleeved.

The left engine case has A35220o then 79X100 near the top then at the 9 o clock position it has A600.

hi my 850 commando keeps killing spark plugs they work for a week or two then they start braking down and stop working as any one had this prob and no what it could be thecause

Have any 961 owner's adjusted the brake pedal to that it's start position is rotated further forward around the peg?

Hello. Recently bought an 850 mk2a in boxes. Looks to be complete engine wise but engine is stripped, and looks to have been cleaned.
