Atlas 750 engine in a Hybrid G15. The piston tops sit .055" above the cylinder at top dead center. Is this correct?
More familar with Commandos which are flush.

Does my Norton 1937 M50 have a dry clutch, or is it wet? If it's wet, can I put 500cc Speedway Jawan clutch? I have one extra clutch of that kind, but not Norton's own
For cosmetic reasons I am trying to replace individual spoke nipples on my 1936 16H retaining the original butted 8g/10g spokes.

Does anyone know the rear wheel nut sizes ? - A 1/2" Whit. is a loose fit on the nearside and a 22mm spanner is a loose fit on offside! Also the adjusters are 1/8" Whit.

1] I have just bought a 1974 basket case of an 850 Commando [MY FIRST Commando] and am surprised to see it has a positive + earth and has RED EARTH LEADS! Is this correct?
2] If correct did the Commando ever go to negative earth?

Here is my problem I start the bike click in to first gear release the clutch the bike goes nowhere, pull the clutch rock the bike back and forth a few times release the clutch and the bike moves off.
Is it possible to buy a ready made wiring loom for a 1935 ES2? If not does anyone know where best to buy all the bits to make my own?
I assume it should be cotton braided?

Hi all,
A few have asked where to get these and as some of you may know Fred Williams hasn't been well recently. I spoke to the other supplier at Kempton;Jeff Hunter Engineering who also make all manner of replacement rubber parts.
Has anybody had any success soldering nipples onto stainless steel control cables? I've tried using phosphoric acid from a tatooist as flux but the solder just doesn't want to flow into the cable.

Have been looking for instructions on stripping and servicing of the forks, one of which is leaking, can anyone point me in the direction of any technical articles?
Can anyone confirm in 1955 that the ES2 shared a common petrol tank with the Matchless G80S.
Having trouble finding ES2 tank so thought it may be an option to find one from Matchless.

just bought my first commando , 1972 750 roadster , needs some work . Was going to send the stansions off for rechrome as they are badly pitted . Have noticed some for sale on club shop .Anyone got some advice for a beginner please .
My '52 ES2 recently had a full engine rebuild, it runs very well but there is one issue, when pushed hard i.e over 60mph particularly if going uphill, the exhaust valve pops open and the engine cuts out.

My 1954 ES2 gearbox seems to have developed a fault which I cannot seem to trace. The box is the Norton laydown one and as far as I can tell is the bike original one.
i live in the harwich area,is there anyone within a 40 mile area who offers this service
