Can anybody tell me if there is any difference between a Commando 1971 frame and a 1975 frame? Thank you! Regards from Svein.

After recent conversations I thought my experience of the weekend might be of interest to anyone with mismatch between jet blocks and body...
So i've bitten bullet and decided to remove iffy RITA ignition from my ATLAS, I hope there is a special circle of hell reserved for wiring harness butchers !!

Hi, after about 12 years I'm soon to get my 1973 MKIIA 850 Commando out of storage and, hopefully, start riding it again. I haven't actually seen it for about seven years, so I've no idea what I'll find.
Hello All,
When I split the crankcase on the navigator I notice it had a paper joint. I have never seen this on a crankcase joint before and do not seem to be able to buy one--has anyone else had thoughts on this?
I have just bought 4 replacement valve guides for my navi, however they do not have the knife edges I read about in some of the manuals, rather they have more of a well to collect oil.
Hello - I wonder if any of my fellow Nortonist's know of a tank sprayer capable of doing a top notch job here, in my neck of the woods? That is, the greater Swindonarea.? Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
I've got plenty of oil into the Mag/Dyno chain chamber. More than the engineers intended I suspect. The bronze bush looks worn and I would like to replace but can't find one anywhere on-line
RE; wear on my 1951 ES2 clutch outer plate.
My Thrust Pin ( mushroom) has worn the outer clutch plate.
The wear is about .016" deep
is this a problem ?
Should I leave it ??
My 1951 ES2 is missing one clutch spring screw: two are original
and the third one is a misc modern bolt and washer
Part number A2/403
This hex bolt seems to be unique to the Plunger frame and earlier Clutches. l

If I recall; - a few years ago, there was an instructive article in the Roadholder magazine about timing a PW3 cam.
Unfortunately, I have lost my copy and cannot remember the issue number.
Can someone please tell me why I should buy a SRM stainlessoil pressure relief valve instead of just fitting my old faithful one back in with a new spring. At £50 and more it seems a lot of money for something shiny.

I have heard one or two horror stories aboutautomatic camshaftdrive tensioners. For instance they tighten up to the slackest part of the chain and can't then slacken off when the tight bit comes around.
Hi all - in anticipation of getting my reassembled mag back I took a look at the section on ignition timing in one of my handbooks. This one was Haycroft's Book of the Norton (8th Edition 1957).
The documents for the 2017 Norton Owners Club AGM are available on the section marked 'News' on the left-hand side of the screen.
Does anybody know if we can park a bike at the front of the Transport museum on Sunday or have we got to use a car park ?
On my 1959 dominator I have an exposed part of the rear chain near to the gearbox sprocket. With the chain-guard fitted, it doesn't seem to extend forwards enough to cover the area around the gearbox sprocket.
I seem to remember advice on here saying it was not a good idea to kickstart a Commando whilst on the centre stand, though a search didn't find it. Can anyone confirm that this is not good practice?
Is there any motorcycle parking at the AGM in Coventry?
Which MkI Concentric is a good replacement for a 1" 376/66 Monobloc on a 1960 88?

Hello all
I'm a long term subscriber to Motorcycle Sport & Leisure (or port and lemon as I believe it is also known). Increasingly I find less and less to read in this although I do enjoy some of the regulars.
I noticed the ratched shaft spindle sticks out too far. The outer of the two o-rings is almost in fresh air!
Well like a prat I have left my ES2 for Months. Stacks (gallons) of fuel in it. The Com I start every ten days or so to stop it Sumping. I just couldn't be arsed to fight with all the junk in the garage.
