Navigator ratched shaft spindle
I noticed the ratched shaft spindle sticks out too far. The outer of the two o-rings is almost in fresh air!

Well like a prat I have left my ES2 for Months. Stacks (gallons) of fuel in it. The Com I start every ten days or so to stop it Sumping. I just couldn't be arsed to fight with all the junk in the garage.
I have recently reassembled the motor on my 750 racer. It was not really a rebuild as most parts including cam, followers and rings were really used.
Bike is a â63 650ss.
The oil feed union that screws into the top of the cylinder head has an oil-feed bore of approx. 3/32â.
I have measured the bore where this screws into the head at approx. 3/16â.
I'm at my wits' end with this one. I hope someone can come up with an answer.
1960 slimline 88 with short Roadholders. New stanchions, bushes, seals. Fork yokes checked and straightened by an expert.
In the workshop manual (section C33 in the 1973 edition) it says
"14 Tighten the cylinder base nuts in sequence."
Unfortunately it fails to specify what the sequence is.
My1975 Mk3 Commando is developing a gearbox problem in that as it warms, it occassionly wont let me select 2nd gear. Shifting back to first and reving it up to about 3000rpm will ususally get around the problem.
Hi chaps, I'm really struggling to remove thefork collars of the fork legs (the official manual calmly states "unscrew by hand, or if necessary use a strap wrench") -up to now they won't budge.
Hello Members if you need to know when your featherbed Nortonwas built you can find this out by the date stamp marking on the small top lug next to the head-stock, where you bolt you head steadyfrom you mat need to remove some paint to find its
Looking for Frame No. Does anybody know where it should be stamped?
Arthur.
would anyone have the faintest clue where to source cylinder head bolts for a 1957 model 19, they are longer than the ES2 bolts and appear to be about as common as hens teeth.
cheers
John

Good evening all.
Just after spraying my commando oil tank, and with the paint still wet, I dropped it! (The law of sod prevails!)
Has there ever been a gasket for the ES2 timing chest cover ?
any idea where they can be had ? Should I make one up or rely on the modern gasket-in-a-tube and hope for the best ?
Probably a subject that has been discussed a lot, but please bear with me, I'm new to the game. The petrol tank from my bike is due to be shot blasted and powder coated but the painter has raised the issue of internal rust.
Hi I have read a few of the replies to my question about ethanol proof additives. Some of the replies suggest it should be OK to leave the fuel in the tank. That is not the case. The factory told me it IS BEST TO DRAIN THE TANK IF LAID UP.
I have 2 57 dommi 99's one built Oct. 56 and one mid 57 both with M14 prefixes. I have just noticed a difference in the frames at the bottom rear engine plate mountings.

I happened to be in Birmingham yesterday and found I was near Bracebridge Street, so paid a visit to the old factory. There is no evidence that it was ever home to Nortonand the blue plaque that Geoff Duke unveiled has gone.
