I have a large collection of used plugs ,some fouled with oily sooty deposits and some with residue from dissolving tank liner ( thanks EU!) . The sooty ones will recover if fitted to a hot clean running motor and given a blast up the road.
Hi All
I am just trying to identify the year and model of my Norton.
Frame and Engine numbers aren't identical!
Frame Number: 54574 and is a swinging arm frame..
Engine number: KK546, - Also on casing is: 82/113.
What a great day out at Prescott yesterday. There must have been over 70 assorted Nortons at a great venue on a warm sunny day. Thanks for the organising team. Give yourselves a pat on the back.

At the AGM I thought I heard somebody say the booking forms would be available last week on the web site. I may be wrong (again). Or are they hiding somewhere.
Any idea when guys.

Hello, I have recently acquired a Norton rolling chassis with a Honda 4 engine "squeezed in".
Hello,
Can anyone give me the thickness of the fibre gear distance piece that fits on the camshaft between the timing cover and the dynamo drive tensioning finger spring?
Just drained the sump of my 1970 Commando after a 2 month layup (wet sumped of course) and found a number of 0.5 to 1 mm rubber particles in the oil pan.
I have just fitted a reconditioned head to my 1960 M50 in the hope to improve the compression from 30psi ! It has improved slightly -my tester now reads 50psi after about 5/6 brisk kicks (Throttle open!)
Hello ,
I would like to ask some help. Unfortunately is no one who has a M7 nearby .
numbnut question perhaps but how does one balance the carbs as there is no access to the choke when the filter is attached?
Hello all
I've recently fitted one of these oil pressure sensors to my 1972 Roadster and thought I'd share the information:
Having just had a cracking evening drive in my MG and now sitting here with a coldErdinger Weisbier in total satisfaction, it occurs to me that as my spare fibreglass Interstate tank; unused for some 15 years at least, fitsand looks so good on the
Just a quick note I recently joined this Branch and must say what a friendly and helpful bunch they are .A wealth of Knowledge is needed to keep these old Gals on the road and in this area I find myself distinctly lacking. Thanks again Pete.
I am starting to put the gearbox back together, given that a new layshaft bush is inserted and pegged in place, a shim is used between the kickstart pawl and first ( I think it is first) gear, are there any other mods worth making or things to wat
The parts list for my'55 ES2 does not show any gasket for the carb. The parts list for the carb (Amal website) shows an O-ring to mate with the flange on the cylinder.
That looks suspiciously like a sv BSA m20 head to me, just a thought.
Just moving towards the latter stages of my 1959 Dommie 99 rebuild. Looking at the handlebar levers they are stamped with an R in a triangle ( see pic).
Hi everyone,
I've acquired a 1972 Commando, and since then, i thought i could get it on the road asap, but seems not.
1955 19s cylinder head,
just stripping my engine down looking at the inside of the cylinder head it has metal surrounding just the valve area and not all over like a dome is this how it should be.
thanks, Barry
I have rebuilt a 1955 ES2 and have encountered a problem with the primary drive. Fitting the chain, clutch and front sprocket I'm finding the chain at the front sprocket is seriously fouling the inner chaincase.
The 1955 (and 1950) ES2 parts lists show a "cam wheel packing washer" (or as Norvil call it, a "timing gear shim" on the outside of the exhaust gear.
Hi I own a Norton Atlas 750 model year 64. And wondering how I can determine if it is a wideline or slimline? Hope you understand my English I'm from Sweden. Grateful for the response. Sincerely, Michael Y
Excuse my ignorance, I`ve just stripped my dolls head gearbox on a 1946 model 18 I`m renovating (I know it should have an upright, but it has a dollshead).
This might be of interest to some of you:
I have a wideline framed triton, which was originally built up in the 1960's. Although a 1950's frame and engine, it is registered as 1965. I am therefore to get a dating certificate from the club and put an age related plate on it.
I bought a brand new Commando 750 RH5 head, (I know, rarer than hen's teeth) but brand new it is. Five for sale and they went in hours, I got the last one.
