Returning UK member looking for MOT in or near Brighton

Hi, after about 12 years I'm soon to get my 1973 MKIIA 850 Commando out of storage and, hopefully, start riding it again. I haven't actually seen it for about seven years, so I've no idea what I'll find. It's been under cover in a secure location so, if luck is on my side, I'm hoping a new battery and some TLC might be all it needs.

It turns out the enormously friendly local motorcycle MOT station I used to use has closed down in the meantime (surely it can't be my fault alone!), so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a Norton-friendly MOT tester in the area of Brighton, Sussex.

Cheers.

I have been using TPG for decades. They understand classic bikes including Nortons.

That sounds just the thing, thank you! A relief that it's somewhere so near. It'll probably be later this month before I get down there, but I'll post here when it's done, cheers!

My Commando got its MOT today! I'd popped into a local scooter shop for a padlock and chain, and it turned out that the guy in charge of their MOTs is the same guy that tested my bike six years running in the shop that's now closed down! Apparently the owner just retired. So the tester wasn't phased at all, even though it's a scooter shop. Who'd have thunk it?! The bike still looks like it's been in a shed for 12 years, but I've been concentrating on making it functional. New battery, oil & filter, brake fluid, fresh petrol and it started easily. Touch wood, the only real problem so far has been a leaky carb gasket. It's running great, sounds fantastic and still looks like a beast.

So I haven't visited TPG, but thanks for the tip. And add me if anyone else has the same question I started out with, the more the merrier!
