Oil pump identification

Forums

i am trying to identify an oil pump from a picture and I understand (from a previous posting here) that the later 3/16" wide gear pumps are stamped with the letter 'S'. Can anyone tell me whereabouts this would be stamped (ideally include a photo).

I know there has been much discussion on oil pump differences but when I searcehd the forum I didn't actually find the answer to this specific question

The letter S is stamped on top of the body of the oil pump. That oil pump is left hand and 3 start. It was used up to 1966 on the 650ss and 750's. The part number was 23111. The body part number was 23112.

Thanks Anthony - however i have seen (on 'an' auction site) oil pumps being sold as being for Commando but I have not detected the letter S on them. So, either they are not actually for Commando or I am looking at the wrong place.

Also, does the layout of the oilways help identify them? I know that there are different combinations of holes and slots.

Could someone post a picture of the 'S' marking and perhaps the oilways please?

Thanks
