im refilling the primary chain case with fresh oil , the manual that 

i own , shows that the refill amount is 200 cc or 1/3 pint , to me 

that doesnt seem like enough oil , as the case has enough room

for alot more.

I am at the point of adding decals to my new tank and refurbished side panels. I looked around to try figure out if measurements exist for the correct location for a ‘72 Commando Roadster 750.

When I do a current test by inserting a multi meter in the circuit, my 1936 Model 18 is using about 60mA despite everything being off. I noticed that the battery was slowly draining over a few days so did the test.

Further to my previous queries regarding the correct return spring , has anybody familiar with the GB 8  box got a definite original or correct spring that they could photograph please.

I have a "hybrid" bike which I am very slowly doing up.  It has a rather idiosyncratic 12V wiring set up so I have decided to rewire it from scratch.

Troubles troubles....

after a nasty 3 months without my bike, she developed a cough. 

The first ride was ok, then the next day she started to back fire a little. 

It seems my 6 spring clutch on my 31 Model 20 has 2 different sets of springs.

Are these springs the same as the later 3 plate clutch?

I would like to put in 6 new springs

I have read about people fitting later Commando cam in Dommies. The reason seems to be that a solid cam don't break as easily as the hollow Dommie cam. Of cource this means fitting another type of breather.

I have one of these fitted to the front wheel of the es2 and a Dunlop gold seal k70 fitted to the back wheel...…… no coding is on either of the tyres although they both look in good condition and ride well

Not since the Vincent have I seen a bike with two side stands. I am finding it difficult to use the centerstand and the ground  angles don't allways  work in favour.

We all have bikes that wet sump if left for a while - right? A couple of questions

1) What happens if it is wet sumped and you start the engine?

When I bought my 1964 Jubilee as a box of parts it came with the wrong size carburettor. I was hoping that I might get away with using it but after a road test this week there is a noticeable fall in power mid-range.

Gentlemen,

Can somebody please identify which is the oil drain plug as fitted to the GB8 suffix laydown gearbox on my 1956 Dominator 99 ?

Following last years success, a few of us arranging to do it again at this great location which should be accessible for several 961 ers ‘ ,there is a real mix of bikes that turn up so should be a good day out

1947 model 18. Can anybody advise on removal of the exhaust head nut. It has possibly been there for 60 years. I have tried heat, gentle tapping, a chain filter removing tool. I am not expecting to get it out in one piece!
